It's good because it's totally bizarre; and so scary cuz people actually act and talk like her

Louise (louisecc) | 192 comments OK - finished Before I Go to Sleep. Now I know what all the fuss is about! Most definitely a must-read - I finished most of it on a flight from Perth to Melbourne! I'm on to The Quest by Susan Kearney - which is the "choose one from a friend's list", but I think that compared to "Sleep" it's only going to be sloppy seconds. ;)

message 670: by Louise (new)

Louise (louisecc) | 192 comments Today I finished The Quest by Susan Kearney. It was the 'choose a book from a friend's list' option, and all I can say is... if it comes your way, don't ever bother. I'm now on to U is for Undertow and I think that only leaves me with Gorky Park to read and I've finished! Drove from Melbourne up to Bendigo this morning, and I am sooo lucky I can read in cars. :)

Oh that's no good:( I hope you'll be ok....dentist's aren't my favourite people :(

message 682: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 3071 comments The best part about having a tooth out is the sleeping gas they put you on when they remove it. You feel so weird and strange when you wake up. I had like, four teeth taken out when I had my braces put on.

message 683: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 3071 comments Nope, the sleeping gas takes that all away :)

message 684: by Emily (new)

Emily | 83 comments Jess, how long did your teeth hurt after you got your braces? I'm getting mine Wednesday week.

message 685: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 3071 comments They are so painful for the first 2-3 days. I could hardly open and close my mouth for the first 24 hours. The pain was terrible and was was awful to eat.
But, fear not, after that they're fine. You don't even feel them from then on. It'll hurt a lot at first, but its fine in a few days.

Oh, and when you first get them on, you'll drool. A lot.

message 686: by Emily (new)

Emily | 83 comments Haha. Thanks, now I can't wait.

Winter ends on the 31st August Maggie...we'll be releasing Spring in the next few days:)

message 697: by Louise (new)

Louise (louisecc) | 192 comments I feel almost as if I've just crammed for an exam! I was getting a bit stressed 2 weeks ago that I wouldn't be able to finish all 11 books, but then I realised I'd also read about 4 also-rans in between. Got back from Melbourne very early this morning and I made it into work, so I won't be reading too much when I get home this evening. Still start Gorky Park tomorrow. I have been reading Passage by Connie Willis the past few days but the main character, Joanna Lander, is beginning to irk me, so I will have a break and come back to it when I am less irked. :)

message 698: by Louise (new)

Louise (louisecc) | 192 comments Sorry - that should've been "will start...." Fingers are currently moving faster than my brain is.

message 699: by Louise (new)

Louise (louisecc) | 192 comments Nope, just done a proper count... have read a total of 8 also-rans!

message 700: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 80009 comments Mod
Wow! You are doing well Louise...don't worry if you don't finish, you'll probably be able to head them over to the spring challenge, and read them in there:)
