When adding books in other languages, especially swedish, I have noticed that lots of ISBNs are missing in the database. Understandable, since swedish is not the most widely spread language in litterature.
This is a problem for new users. I have friends who checked out the site, noticed that the first few books they tried to add were missing, to lazy to manually add them and quit.

Anyway, the swedish books that actually are in the database (like maybe one out of twenty) all looks manually added. Is there really no way to automatically mass add long series of ISBNs? There is of course the built-in data fetch from a few english distributors, but again, no swedish books there.

I have this idea of writing a small script to fetch data from some swedish online vendor, or library catalogue, and add missing books much easier than entering all data by hand. Of course, with permission from the data source, and manual review of data before actually submitting anything to the database. What is the community view on such work?

Are those books not at Goodreads at all or are they there without isbn?

They are not here at all.

Mattias, as far as I know there is no mass adding of books in any language. I know a lot of books in english are imported when the individual ISBN is entered into the system. But that is one book at a time.
