Tiffanny Thanks!!

I'm thinking that I really want to read Entwined. For some reason it just keeps popping out at me. If you'd like to read Switch or Betrayal I'm all for it. It sounds like you have a lot of books on your plate already, lol. Thank you for the picks!! A few of them have been sitting in my TBR, and now I have a little push and incentive to read them =)

Thanks for the recommendations! I don't think there was any delay at all in you getting them to me.

There are a lot of good books on your list. Burning Wild looks very interesting. But since I like to start at the beginning of a series, I have requested the first regular book in the series from my library. But since that wasn't on the list, I need to pick one or two more!

Since I do like science fiction and romance, I think I'll read Games of Command. I have requested it from my library as well, so I should have it next week.

I also plan to read You've gone too far this time, Sir!. It was actually one of the free books on Amazon for the Kindle that just sounded really interesting. So I think June is a good month to read it!

I hope to read even more from your list, but I'll start with these!

Thanks!!

I think the series definitely gets better. And I really like Pritkin in the future books!

Kiss of Snow is my most awaited release this year and the second I get it, I will start reading it , I am too obsessed to Buddy-read it .

I understand that!!

I think I'm going with You Slay Me since you said it's an amusing read. "

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Hi Lacy - After reading Rossy's post I think we can just set up a thread in that folder (Dare You To Read) because it looks like other people are reading Hot in Here too. How about I PM you when I get the book and we can figure out when we want to start?

And I hope you enjoy Slave to Sensation. I really love that series!

Oh wow, someones going to have to hide my credit card because I feel like tackling them all! Thanks so much for the picks. I'm definitely taking on Magic Slays without a doubt, I already have it preordered to my kindle. I'm also seriously fangirling over Simply Irresistible, Bet Me, First Grave on the Right, Shiver, and Pleasure Unbound. But don't be surprised if I try to read them all :P

I'd love to buddy read also! It would be my first so I hope the process is self-explanatory LOL

message 265: by Lili (new)

Lili | 343 comments Hey KarenH, sorry for the delay but here are your picks for this month... I had a wonderful time going through your shelves and finding a few books I'd like to read too.
I know I went a bit crazy but is just that this new idea for the challenge gave me a lot of trouble... there were like 10 books I wanted to add for each mood. I narrowed it down to this. Hope you find something you like and let me know if you want to go for a buddy read!

From Their TBR Shelves
1 - Pick a book that makes you feel intrigued (by the storyline/cover whatever you choose)

Prince Joe by Suzanne Brockmann… how could I not get intrigued by a Navy SEAL?
Caught by Jami Alden… Ex-military… we did say we liked men in uniform.
Dragon Actually by G.A. Aiken. I found very interesting that the female’s name is Annwyl the Bloody, she sounds like a strong lead character.
Sweet Surrender by Maya Banks. A cop from Dallas… mmmm… but look at the cover!

2 - Pick a book with a cover that makes you laugh or feel happy
Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard. I haven’t read this one but have seen it recommended on previous challenges… but a Mr. Perfect?... that’s just hilarious!
Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas. I should find myself one of these!

3 - Pick a book that makes you envious that it's on their shelves.
These 3 are my favorite series ever!... and yes, I’m soooo jealous and envious you got them on your TBR list ‘cause it means you get to read them for the first time:
A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole
Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh
Dark Lover by J.R. Ward

From Your Read Shelves
4 - Pick the last book that made you feel so good you rated it 5 stars

Graceling by Kristin Cashore. Oh my God, what a great book!, I hadn’t enjoyed a story so much in a while.
The Secret by Julie Garwood. Technically it was The Ransom but you can try the first one in the series… it was just as good.

5 - List the book you would curl up with on a stormy night
I just found out I think of historical romance when I want to curl up with a book on a stormy night…
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Big big book but sooo good.
The Duke and I by Julia Quinn. Fun, light read… and I still don’t know who the writer is!
Then Came You by Lisa Kleypas. Probably one of my favorite books ever… I love the female lead character, so different from what you usually read in this kind of books and with so many inner conflicts. She’s so messed up! but you’ll love her.

6 - List the book you pick up when you most need a pick-me-up or a laugh
One for the Money by Janet Evanovich. The funniest series ever!... yes, Stephanie is the dorkest person alive but she’s funny… her mind works in a different frequency.
Kiss an Angel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. One of the sweetest stories ever… and super fun!
Just the Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James. By my favorite contemporary author, this is the one I like the most.

Buddy Reads
7 - Pick the next book you want to read from your TBR shelf

I’ve wanted to read this for a while… either one you pick, just let me know.
Wicked Ties by Shayla Black
Virgin River by Robyn Carr
Heartbreaker by Julie Garwood
The Beast in Him by Shelly Laurenston

8 - Pick the book from their TBR shelf that you are seriously considering adding to yours.
I found some pretty interesting books in your TBR… I’ll be adding them to mine soon… oooh so many good books, so little time!
Charming the Highlander by Janet Chapman
Time to Run by Marliss Melton. Since you’re on the 3rd one… how about you read this one and I read Forget Me Not?
High Country Bride (McKettrick Cowboys, #1) by Linda Lael Miller
Dark Warrior Unleashed by Alexis Morgan
Going Down by Shelli Stevens

HAPPY READING!!

Emily | 199 comments Pam,

I hope the books that I picked will work. Please let me know if you would like me to pick additional books.

From your TBR shelve:
1) Scandalous (Banning Sisters trilogy #1) by Karen Robards The description of this books sounds great. I ended up adding it to my tbr.

2) The Christmas Cookie Club A Novel by Ann Pearlman I love cookies and wrapping them so this one made me smile.

3) Wicked Becomes You by Meredith Duran I read the description of this book and it sounded really interesting.

4) Elphame's Choice (Partholon, #4) by P.C. Cast I just finished reading this book yesterday. I had a really hard time putting it down and ended up with a sun burn from being outside for hours reading it. I would highly recommend this series.

5) The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld, #1) by Gena Showalter On a stormy night I would read any of the books from the Lords of the Underworld series. I am currently still in the process of the series and it is the perfect book to curl up with.

6) It's In His Kiss (Bridgertons, #7) by Julia Quinn This is part of the Bridgertons. This story really is able to pick you up.

7) The Lightkeeper's Daughter (Mercy Falls, #1) by Colleen Coble This the first in a series and I really want to get to the lightkeeper's ball.

8) The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures, #1) by Jennifer Ashley Added this to my to read list and placed it on hold at the library.

Emily-thanks so much for the recommendations. I've read the Quinn (long ago so it's not on my list) but I love Quinn. I have Scandalous in my bookpile so I will probably start there but I'm going to see if the library has a copy of The Darkest Night because people have recommended the author to me before and I haven't read a thing by her. Wow, Lili, you gave me a ton to choose from! Quite a few of them I've already read (and I agree with your comments on them, so that's a very good sign!) but even with that I have a lot of good choices. I've had Caught and Dragon Actually on my TBR shelf forever, along with a few others you picked, so I'll probably try one of those. Since I seem to be on a RS streak lately, it'll probably end up being Caught. Graceling sounds very interesting too, I've already put it on hold at the library, but I'm not sure if I'll get it in time to read it in June. As far as a buddy read goes, there are several that would work well for me this month - the one that fits into other challenges the best is Going Down, but I'd also like to read Wicked Ties and The Beast in Him - if not this month, at least very soon. I'll let you know more about the buddy read once I have a chance to figure out how things fit together for the month.

Thanks for the great picks!

~Sara~ | 667 comments Hello Gigi.
I was just looking through your picks for Taita and I don't know if this is a good thing or not but I actually picked 2 of the same books for you. Hopefully that means we have similar tastes!

From Your TBR
1. Mirror of My Soul - I've added this entire series to my TBR but it was this one's cover that caught my eye. Since I don't think you can read these out of order, I`ll recommend any in this series that you'd like to read.

2. Ever His Bride - What a cheesy cover!!! Is that Fabio? :D
Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal - this one isn't on your TBR but the cover always makes me laugh (and the book's absolutely hilarious too).

3. Princess of the Midnight Ball - I'm extremely envious of this dress; it is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen!

From My TBR
4. The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr - My last 5* book was this play but if you haven't seen it, it loses some of it's appeal so the one I read before that was
From Hell which is also on your TBR and I would highly recommend it!

5. A Summer to Remember - One of my all time favourite comfort reads is Slightly Dangerous but it's the end of the series so my second favourite within that series is this prequel. There's another prequel that comes even earlier, One Night for Love, but I didn't like it as much so, if you don't mind reading these ones out of order, this is a better intro to the series IMO.

6. Lord of Scoundrels - The heroine in this had me laughing out loud throughout the book, especially with her comments to the hero and about her dim-witted brother. Next to Slightly Dangerous, this is my favourite HR.
If you want a quick read Sh*t My Dad Says is one of the funniest books I've ever read.

Buddy Read
7. Love Is Blind - I was planning to read this for the June Featured Author Challenge, so if your doing it as well and haven't chosen a book yet maybe we could read this one together.

8. When Beauty Tamed the Beast - I love books based on fairy tales this one is rated really high which grabbed my attention as I perused your substantial TBR. If you`d like to read it with me let me know!

Mirror of My Soul (Nature of Desire, #4) by Joey W. Hill Ever His Bride by Linda Needham Lamb The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore Princess of the Midnight Ball (Princess #1) by Jessica Day George The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged) by The Reduced Shakespeare Company From Hell by Alan Moore A Summer to Remember by Mary Balogh Lord of Scoundrels (Scoundrels, #3) by Loretta Chase Sh*t My Dad Says by Justin Halpern Love Is Blind by Lynsay Sands When Beauty Tamed the Beast (Happily Ever Afters, #2) by Eloisa James

Thank you so much for the recommendations; they all look like awesome choices!!! Now to decide which to read...

As much as I would like to read A Discovery of Witches with you, there are currently 115 holds on 14 copies at my library, so I don`t see me getting it any time soon. :( I`ve added my name to the list anyway and will let you know what I thought when I finish it.

Unfortunately, after reading the synopsis for The Moving Finger I realized I`ve already read it (sorry!!!). I couldn`t remember it well enough to rate it so I left it out until I reread it. If there was another one you`d like to read I`d love to join you, otherwise I`ll probably end up reading either Neverwhere or The Knitting Circle.

Thanks Miss, love the recs! I'll post back when I decide what I'm reading. I'm also going to see if my library has Wither available now and get back to you on that.

Suzanne (esmerelda1) | 2244 comments Hello Katherine! I hoped I picked some good books for you this month!

From Their TBR Shelves
1 - Pick a book that makes you feel intrigued (by the storyline/cover whatever you choose):
The cover of this book looks really interesting, it’s very whimisical and pretty!
The Faerie Path by Frewin Jones

2 - Pick a book with a cover that makes you laugh or feel happy:
Oh, how I wish I could get my garden to look like that! My yard is the place where flowers go to commit suicide…
The Mermaid Garden by Santa Montefiore

3 - 3 - Pick a book that makes you envious that it's on their shelves:
I LOVED this movie, even though it got really bad reviews. When I found out it was originally a book I was really excited, if the movie was good, the book should be even better!
Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman

From Your Read Shelves
4 - Pick the last book that made you feel so good you rated it 5 stars:
I love P.C. Cast, her books are about greek mythology and they always have a happy ending! I'll recommend the first in the series:
Goddess of the Sea by P.C. Cast

5 - List the book you would curl up with on a stormy night: Kim is awesome and so is her main character Rachel Morgan. I'd have them around on a stormy night anytime! Very humorous and suspenseful at the same time!
Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison

6 - List the book you pick up when you most need a pick-me-up or a laugh: I thought this book looked really stupid because of the title at first. However, while I was reading it I laughed so hard that I knew I'd read everything this author ever wrote. She's one of the funniest authors in my collection!
Undead and Unwed by MaryJanice Davidson

Buddy Reads
7 - Pick the next book you want to read from your TBR shelf: I've never done a buddy read before so this will be my first one if you are interested. I have Peach Keeper sitting by my bed calling my name so whenever you want to start reading it let me know!
The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen

8 - Pick the book from their TBR shelf that you are seriously considering adding to yours: Considering? I'm a TBR adding machine, it's a sickness, there's no way I'll read every book on there. However, I did see this one and it looked cool, since I'm a big P.C. Cast fan and love her mythology Goddess Summoning books!
Sins of the Heart by Eve Silver

The Faerie Path by Frewin Jones The Mermaid Garden by Santa Montefiore Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman Goddess of the Sea (Goddess Summoning, #1) by P.C. Cast Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows, #1) by Kim Harrison Undead and Unwed (Undead, #1) by MaryJanice Davidson The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen Sins of the Heart (Otherkin, #1) by Eve Silver

Thank you so much for my recommendations! I know how you feel, they really need more shelf options on here ;) Thankfully we can add our own! I created one especially for your recommendations! I can't guarantee I'll be able to read all of them, but I'll do my best they all look awesome!

I created my Books I Own shelf because I wanted to keep a catalogue of all my books somewhere that I could access it from anywhere. I've worked in bookstores and libraries since I was 16 years old, so I've accumulated a MASSIVE book collection and the Books I Own List only goes to the authors from A - C. They're in piles all over my bedroom in alphabetical author and I'm stuck on D because I've run out of book shelf space! I'm in serious trouble, but I love it!

I am sorry it has taken me so long to get to this! My daughter fell off of her bike and broke three fingers and we have to head out to the orthopedist here in a bit so I might not get your recs up till later this evening(Texas time) but I will get them done before the day is over...

I Have actually read Maybe This Time and Flat-Out Sexy however I think I forgot to update it on here:) I have requested Wicked Appetite from the library and I already have True Colors... I also have had Darkfever on my tbr list for a long time and would love to read it too!
