Dreck | 1 comments So, lookin at another forum I frequent, I came across an excellent idea for a thread. You know all those urban myths and legends we all know and love? How some are still believed, even known as being a fake (like the Thin Man for instance) well, let's have a bit of fun! Let's all create urban legends and myths! I'll begin first with... THE LIGHT GOBLINS

The Light goblins

It's said that in the early 80s, when kids were allowed on playground till the streetlights came on but had to get home ASAP. No one ever knew why. But your parents did... The reason was because of the light goblins, beings who steal little kids who stay out past dark, until the streetlights come on.

Well no one believed it, especially not Billy Johnson of Sacremento, California. He pffted at his mother's warning to come home before the street lights came on. As he continued to swing up as high as possible he heard a giggle once the first light came on. There was movement in the corner of his eye, but he couldn't see it clearly. As another light came on, and the sun went down further, he heard skipping. He felt his heart beating and took off, full sprint back for his house. Each fearful step he took beneath the streetlights he could hear them getting closer and closer still.

He was almost home!

It was right there! All he had to do was open his gate to keep the goblins out, but right as he reached to touch the gate he heard the laughter change to a gutteral growl and was snatched away, dragged back down the streets, only appearing as they passed beneath the streetlights.

It's said, that if you go to a park and listen closely you can still hear poor Billy's tortured screams and the giggles of the goblins. and if you see that feint movement in the corner of your eye while out alone, don't brush it off, run, run as fast as you can for your home, lest the goblins... get you too.
