Sue (suefloyd) | 5 comments I read this book in the early 80s so it was published then before then. I think it was a Clifford Simak book, but didn't find it in an online list of his books. The story takes place on one of the outer planets moons. An anomaly leads an expedition to that moon and the humans find a civilization of robots who believe organic life is heresy. A rogue robot or group of robots help the humans. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

Could it be A Choice of Gods?

Sue (suefloyd) | 5 comments No, but thanks. This book almost all takes place on the outer moon and Earth is just fine.

I realized I was actually thinking of Destiny Doll, but that's definitely not it either. It sounds familiar though. Too bad many of the Simak books are without descriptions here.

Sue (suefloyd) | 5 comments I finally found the book I was looking for. It is Code of the Lifemaker by James P. Hogan. I know it's not time travel, but is good Sci fi. Thanks for everyone who suggested titles.

Glad you finally found what you were looking for, Sue. I had that same problem about a year ago trying to remember the title of a book I had read in the Contemporary Christian Fiction genre. I eventually found it by employing the help of the CCF group here on Goodreads.

I also had the same memory issue just a couple of weeks ago (blast this aging process, not my favourite form of time travel).

This awesome goodreads group found my book despite my apparant lack of information.

I highly recommend bookmarking this group. But post in this thread too, folks, if its a time travel book you are trying to remember.

Regards to the book I couldnt remember clearly...well it turned out to be a time travelling book but I only remembered it as a supernatural story from the ghost's perspective.

The book is called:

The Time of the Ghost by Diana Wynne Jones The Time of the Ghost
