I have a question: My upcoming comedic novel, A Most Devout Coward, is being released on September 1, 2011, and right now we're taking pre-orders for it. I didn't see a way to do this myself, so I created a page specifically for that book and then added the pre-order details and links within the review section of the book, but I know this probably isn't the most effective way.

Can someone point me in the right direction for setting this up?

The links to booksellers are not able to be customized on a per-book basis, whether for pre-ordering or otherwise.

Why am I not surprised?

And I notice people are STILL having trouble deleting/merging versions of their books, even though you said you gave that power to do so to the author.
