The Mystery, Crime, and Thriller Group discussion

My dad raised me right on a steady diet of Joseph Wambaugh and Ed McBain's 87th Precinct as a young girl. Since then I've strayed into mysteries with caterers, beauticians, and dog groomers(?) as crimesolvers. Now, in my middling years, I'm turning back to my roots, with hardboiled cops and detectives doing the work of nabbing evildoers and ne'er-do-wells. My current favorite crime writer is George Pelecanos. Looking forward to all discussions.
