Marja McGraw (marja1) | 569 comments Me, again. I'm doing a guest blog at DelSheree Gladden's The Edible Bookshelf which will have something different every day for five days. Don't you just love the name of that blog site? Anyway, Monday will an introduction to Bogey Nights. Tuesday is an introduction to me, as an author. Wednesday an interview with me will be posted. On Thursday there will be some of DelSheree's favorites from Bogey Nights, and on Friday you can read a review of the book. I hope you'll have time to stop in each day at http://theediblebookshelf.blogspot.com/ . It should be a lot of fun.

Thank you.

Barbara Rogan (barbararogan) | 33 comments Can writing be taught? I'm not talking about simple, expository writing, but rather fiction writing of the sort that takes a reader places he's never been before. As a teacher myself, I naturally think it can, but not everyone agrees, or if they do, it's with provisos. Would love to hear from you guys. To some extent all writers are self-taught, but did anyone--an editor, teacher, reviewer--ever raise your consciousness or give you a useful tool? http://barbararogan.com/blog/?p=156

Barbara Rogan (barbararogan) | 33 comments There was an excellent New Yorker piece by John McPhee about his relationships with Roger Straus Jr., publisher of Farrar Straus & Giroux, and Robert Gottlieb, of Knopf and The New Yorker. This set off a tsunami of memories. When I was a literary agent, [mumble mumble] years ago, I worked with both those men and others who now seem like legendary heroes of a lost era, including Barney Rossett of Grove, who famously fought for the right to publish D.H. Lawrence and Henry Miller. If you're interested, come have a read. http://barbararogan.com/blog/?p=188
