You're quite right. Our society has become overly protective and what it is producing is immature adults who are ill equiped to face the harsh reality of life. A little less coddling and a little more honesty would help young people to cope with the future. People do get raped and killed and tortured in this world -- every hour of every day. We need to face it - not glorify it, not heroize it -- but not hide it either.

I joined a blog tour, my first experience with that particular kind of animal. The subject of was writing habits, how and why we chose a particular genre, and how our works differed from other authors. I'd like to see some older adults face reality, too. I'm truly tired of political correctness. And what fun is it for a writer if their book has to be labeled?

Remember the line from "The Kingdom of Heaven":

There's only one problem with it: Ibelin was far from dry and dusty.
