Ryan Prejean (rouxbix) | 1 comments Some books come out with new editions but keep the same ISBN. For example, I own a paperback copy of Pendragon: Black Water. The cover looks like this- image1. But now the book is published with a cover that looks like this: image2. Both of these books have the same ISBN because they are the same book just different covers. I created a book that matched the book I own because goodreads only had a version with the newer cover. I could not add the ISBN though because the other version already uses it. Is there a way to combine books so that they share ISBN's?

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments You did the correct thing in adding an alternative cover edition as per
http://www.goodreads.com/help/librari...

There is no way to "share" the ISBN between those editions.

We normally added to the description field

Alternative Cover for ISBN: xxxxxx

and a librarian note to the book so someone else does not delete it in error as a duplicate
