KarenF (cleocleveland) | 1099 comments Oh jeez, I'm a bad organizer. I PM'd Lacy, got excited to start the book and promptly forgot that others were going to read it too.

So, I started it tonight. About 60 pages in and so far so good.

Everybody - Jump in whenever you want. Sorry for the confusion!

Lacy (lacy_stewart) | 1966 comments I started this book last night! Are we allowed to talk about the book freely or do we need to be careful about spoilers on this thread? Usually with this genre of books I either like it or like it not so much. I find a lot of them are so based in the physical that we don't have time to feel anything for the characters. So far with Hot in Here, I am really liking it. I like the main characters, the side characters and the back story. I like that the author was able to draw me in before the sex began. I don't want to say anything else, just in case. I'm on page 85.

KarenF (cleocleveland) | 1099 comments I usually spoiler tag things just in case but that's mainly because I'm spoiler-phobic myself. But I just checked out the other threads and they're pretty spoiler-y so I think anything goes.

I finished it this morning. So I'll stay general for now. I really liked it. I liked the characters too. You're right that they felt like people and not just names having sex.

I also liked that it was lighter in tone than a lot of erotica/erotic romance. I like some angst sometimes but that genre seems to be overrun with it. I thought this had a great tone, enough conflict to keep it interesting but nothing really dire or overly drawn out.

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments I really like Charlotte Featherstone - who is also Sophie Renwick...so i'm looking forward to starting this - tonight maybe (if i finish up the other two that I nearly have done)

Lacy (lacy_stewart) | 1966 comments I finished this last night and I really liked it. I gave it 4 stars, which is a first for me for this genre! I loved the characters, the story and the sexy times. The lovin' seemed to fit in well and not cut and pasted like in some other stories. I hope the author writes a story for Trey and Sarah next!

KarenF (cleocleveland) | 1099 comments I didn't want to post this until I knew you finished but there's some info about Sarah & Trey and their book on her author page. I guess she's on an email campaign about it: http://www.goodreads.com/author_blog_...

I think I'm going to send an email - I'd love to see their story.

@Dee - I really liked this one, what other book(s) by her would you recommend?

message 9: by Lacy (new)

Lacy (lacy_stewart) | 1966 comments Thanks for the information, KarenF. I checked out the link and I sent her an e-mail. I would also love to see their story published!

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments I haven't read any under her Renwick name, but she also writes as Charlotte Featherstone - I really enjoyed Lust - its a historical paranormal featuring fae who are inhabited by the seven deadly sins - the first being lust...

I also enjoyed Addicted and i'm getting ready to read Sinful by her

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments finally actually started this today...lol! only 2 chapters in so far and its pretty good..i'm sorta tired of the plain woman/hot guy trope...and what was it with describing her as not fat but not a size zero...that stuff just irks me...

message 12: by KarenF (new)

KarenF (cleocleveland) | 1099 comments Lust looks really interesting. I always think of UF instead of PNR with the fae. I think because in most myths they're so slippery and untrustworthy. I'm always interested to see what an author can do with that.

I did like the book a lot but I see what you mean about the description of Jenna. But I didn't really see her as all that plain. I think I pictured her as more regular person pretty as opposed to movie star/model pretty. Which now that I'm thinking of it, I guess is "plain" for romancelandia. Eh, I've had to suffer through enough fat guy/hot wife sitcoms on TV so I'm OK with turning the tables for a while. :)

MountainKat | 31633 comments I read this with Fran and we both enjoyed it! Jenna annoyed me a little, but not so much as to put me off the book in general. And I have had this strange craving for gelato...

message 14: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments i'm glad i'm not the only one who ended up with a gelato craving...i don't think i'll be able to look at it again the same in the future...ditto with chocolate cheesecake after reading Zack
