Alright everyone, I love contests and we have a load of authors with fabulous books who have graciously donated to Creative Reviews. I would like us all to have some fun with this so I am announcing our first Contest!!

There are two copies of the book on the line, and we will pick the two winners for these books when we reach 400 members. That is just the cutoff time for this contest, you never know what the next date will be.

The first book is by J.A. Clement J.A. Clement , author of On Dark Shores: The Lady On Dark Shores The Lady by J.A. Clement .

The second book is by Jason J. Berg Jason J. Berg , author of Carbon: Session 01 - Alignment Carbon Session 01 - Alignment by Jason J. Berg .

Now this contest is easy and should be SUPER FUN!

I want you all to some up with the absolute WORST flavor of ice cream you can think up. Be creative!! And if you want to do something like "chunky monkey" but provide new details about the ingredients, feel free to do that!

Lets give Baskin Robbins a run for their money on different ice cream flavors!! :)

Jen (jenlr) My ice cream flavor would be called Squiggles.

Squiggles ice cream is not for the faint of heart. It starts off with a simple base of vanilla bean ice cream. The magic is in the special ingredient; live, frozen worms that thaw and sqiggle around as you eat. Mmm....sounds like heaven on a spoon!

Jen (jenlr) Hehe. How fun. I have another one but I guess I can't enter twice :/

I will post it anyway just for kicks.

It's a special brand called FleshCream

Again it starts off with a simple vanilla bean base. But this specialty ice cream is coated with a nice crunchy layer of dried flesh. And why not top it off with our special blood sauce! People will be knocking down the doors for this flavor so act fast and get it at your local grocers today!!

Cambria (cambria409) | 3305 comments LOL. Fleshcream? Thats pretty good. I'll have to think about this....

message 11: by Cambria (new)

Cambria (cambria409) | 3305 comments Okay so in the spirit of summer I propose and nice fresh flavor.
Let's call it Berrylicious.
Sounds delicious right? It is.
First we start out with a nice vanilla base and add in raspberries, blueberries and strawberries.
Did I mention that the berries have been left out in the hot sun for a few days? Nothing like some juicy mold to add flavor.
Once all the flavors are mixed we place the vat of ice cream into a warm room and shut the door.
Did i mention that in this room are swarms of summer's worst enemy? That's right. Flies.
The flies who are looking for some sugary goodness land in the ice cream and get to eating and you know what a fly does before they eat right? That's right they barf on their food.
The barf adds yet another layer of flavor.
Note: due to the melting of the ice cream some flies will be trapped in the vat which will result in a slightly chewy texture.
Once it is nice and seasoned with fly barf we move it to a flash freezing room so it becomes nice a cold and creamy.
Note:we are not responsible if it comes out freezer burnt. that freezer is cold!
So there you have it.
Berrylicious. With a hint of fly.:)

Cambria (cambria409) | 3305 comments How about this flavor:
The Dirty Werewolf.

Dirt crusted raw steak chopped up and blended with fur. Drizzeled with blood and served during a full moon.

I'd lick it.
(the werewolf not the ice cream.....)

Jen (jenlr) In the FleshCream line we also have a tasty treat that can only be purchased fresh at one of our many ice cream shops.

What we have for you today is a top of the line delicacy.

We start with a rich vanilla bean ice cream (because all the best do) then we fold in streaks of snake scales and a detoxed venom. And here comes the best part. We top it off with a beating snake heart (yes, you heard me right...beating) and add just a touch of blood to delicately trickle down the scoops!

Now if that isn't the tastiest summer treat I don't know what is!

Goopy eyes is my favorite flavor! Eat it all the time!

message 33: by Keryl (new)

Keryl Raist (kerylraist) | 89 comments Gosh, so many yummy flavors so little time.

How about this: Keryl's Krazy Kreme (Cream is spelled incorrectly for legal reasons.)

Unlike some of the other versions we being our "Ice Kreme" with a mixture of water, flour, and splenda. Mixed properly it will look vaguely like vanilla ice cream, and be sweet. To this we will add seductive ribbons of carob sauce and artificial strawberry flavored ultra pink syrup. (The idea is this should look and smell yummy, but you bite into it and your brain starts screaming WTF!!!) Then for a little crunch we'll add some rancid pistachios. You all know the ones they look and smell fine, but you bite into them and suddenly you know the world has gone very, very wrong. Yep, those.

We'll serve a lovely scoop of that in a genuine cardboard cone. Bon appetite!

@Amy....I didn't see a post for gross ice cream flavor made by you.....got any ideas?

message 36: by Cassie (new)

Cassie McCown (cassie629) | 713 comments Mine is "diaper pail"

A week prior to enjoying this delectable dessert, be sure to feed your toddler plenty of nuts and corn!!! ;-)

Start with a nice base of vanilla (vanilla bean, french vanilla--whatever you prefer)... Take your well marinated diapers from the irresistibly fragrant pail. After a week in the stifling laundry room, you might even be lucky enough to have a few maggots inhabiting the pail as well!! Dump the contents of a few of the diapers into the food processor (okay, you know you want to have a little pre-taste)... Add in 1/4 cup spoiled milk and about five moldy strawberries. Blend until creamy. Pour over your vanilla ice cream and top with your squirmy maggots if you have them on hand!

Mmmmm...delicious!

(Okay, seriously, this made me sick just thinking it up... I wasn't going to even participate, but I had to do something to distract me from what I need to be doing! ;-))

message 37: by Cambria (new)

Cambria (cambria409) | 3305 comments this is disgusting. I think we have a winner.....
ew. ew. ewwww.

That is just so....wrong. I have no adjectives for how wrong, that's how wrong it is.

It wasn't even a contest in the wrongness of the answers. Marinated diapers....only those of us with kids can really appreciate that wrongness. Winner.

Did I ever tell you the story of my wife leaving a diaper bag in the car at the airport for a week in summer? lol

:)

message 40: by C.S. Splitter (new)

C.S. Splitter | 979 comments One of the reasons we are divorced now probably lol. Wife 2.0 is much better.

Wife 1.0 flew down to meet me in Florida, I had been on a business trip. We spent a week and flew home together. That's when we discovered the diaper bag. And she had left the lights on so it wouldn't start. It was about 95 degrees. Yes, it was as bad as you would think and worse.

That's why I know Cassie wins lol.

J.A. Clement (jaclement) | 1328 comments Keryl, yours really made me laugh - you've really thought about that! As for Cassie and CS, may I just add a few extra WRONGs to the general chorus?!

You lot are twisted!
(I love this group!)

message 42: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Clement (jaclement) | 1328 comments CS, I just feel I should add a few more WRONGS and possibly a heartfelt "Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww!" to that.

Week old sunheated diapers? The previous post just didn't quite have it covered.

;oS

I would have to say we have never left dirty diapers in the car that long, thank goodness!! We've had some doosies (pun intended) though! Whew!

Didn't know my flavor was going to be so popular! ;-)

Cassie McCown (cassie629) | 713 comments Hahahaha... I seriously left this thread a moment ago thinking how you all are corrupting my brain! (I mean, it couldn't have possibly been corrupted already...) ;-) Who makes people invent things like diaper pail ice cream???

No, I never used to be much of a procrastinator. I'd say in the last several years (since having my 2nd & 3rd children) I have become a bit of a slacker in some areas... ;-) I can assure you that you all have nothing to do with that part--except maybe enabling...
