Cleo raised an eyebrow at Jason with a curious expression on her face. "And why can't you? Unless, of course, you're not talking about the same jumper cables I am?" She could only imagine what sort of weapons a jumper cabl could make for Jason. It almost made her laugh.
"Probably not," Jason said. "Probably not at all." The almost puzzled expression on Cleo's face amused him. "I'm talking about live electrical wires. Shocking you with live electrical wires from behind. That's what made me laugh."

"I'm talking about jumper cables. Techniqually, it's not the same as live wires. It's more safe and about as equally fun." Looking past Jason to the guards, Cleo pursed her lips. She doubted that they would attack her for giving someone jumper cables. But then again, it was pretty much expect the unexpected here.
"Safe?" Jason snorted and waved his hand dismissively. "Safe is the most boring thing in the universe. Nothing that's safe is ever fun, Cleo."

"It can do be fun. There are some rare things that are fun." The nightmare victim argued with her arms now crossed, though the smirk on her face remained.
"But those rare things won't be safe," Jason said. "If they are, they aren't fun. At least not to me."

"Okay then," Cleo said with a shrug. "I give up. The only thing that can ever amuse you in life is death."
"And pain," Jason added. "Pain amuses me in life." He looked thoughtful. "Pain, suffering, death. Those things make me happy." He shrugged, giving a slight rueful smile. "It's very disturbing, but it's true."

"Yeah, but there are a lo of others amused by death and pain, too. So, it's not like your alone in it or anything." Cleo waved her hand around the library. "Just in this room I bet there are a ton of people here who think the same thing."
"I never said I was worried about being alone," Jason said. "I couldn't care less about that. You just asked what I took to be a question disguised by a statement, so I answered you." He paused, shrugging again, and then gave her a curious look. "What are you interested in, Cleo? If I have to tell you my hobbies, you have to tell me yours. I mean, what if you're one of those torturers you told me about? I don't know anything about you."

"Well techniqually, I don't have to tell you anything?" Cleo pointed out as she flicked more hair out of her eyes. "But you're one of the few people I like here, so I suppose I will. I don't really have many hobbies other than me always wearing pink. I like getting doing adventurous things, which sucks because it's so boring here."
"You ever tried getting up on the roof?" Jason asked curiously. "I hear it's off-limits to a patient--it would be an adventure trying to get up there with me, right?"

[One of us has to PM Kat then. I was just thinking about that!]
Those dark brown eyes that usually held a vacant look to them brightened with excitement, her heart already beating at the thought of such an exciting task. "Are you kidding? That would be so cool! But, are you up for it?" A mischievous grin crept over her face at the tease.

"Me? Hell yeah!" Jason's own eyes were brightening, his own heart beating faster with the excitement of finally founding some way of breaking the rules here. Maybe he could finally, really get under the staff's skin by making it to the roof--and with a girl, no less!

[Oh I thought there was a special certain way. XD thanks!
Lmao- with a girl, no less. I love you.]
"Well, let's not just sit here talking about it all damn dy and let's actually do it!" Grinning from ear to ear and fighting back a care-free giggle, Cleo nearly knocked over her chair in her rushed excitement. Grabbing Jason's hand, she began to pull him out of the library. "Let's go, Jason!"

((I love you too. :) ))
Jason paused, planting his feet and pulling her back. He put his finger against her lips. "Announce it to the world, why don't you?" he muttered disapprovingly. "There are guards right in front of you, stupid!"

"Hey. Don't call me stupid or I'm going by myself." She shot him a glowering look that made her look almost serious. "And they don't know what I'm talking about! They probably have something else in mind if they did hear me." Grinning, she snapped her teeth at his finger. "Now are we going or not?"
He wagged it at her, a slight smirk appearing on his face. "We're going. Now stop lecturing me and walk." He then made a point of giving her a small shove with the hand that wasn't in hers.

The sound made Raven look up from his own book, a horror novel. God, what was that noise? He didn't know but looked around in irritation, eyes narrowing until they proceeded to lock on a girl. She was the source of that noise, the infuriating humming. Of course, he thought bitterly. Stuck in a room with one of the airheaded idiots. Figures.
He was still glaring but managed to raise his hand in a small, frustrated wave. Clearly, Raven didn't want to talk, but if this girl was stupid enough to look up from her book to say hi to a random stranger who looked like he wanted to cut out her tongue, she probably wasn't very bright and would try to talk to him anyway. What a mistake that would be on her part.
Instead of answering Raven turned the book so she could see the cover, marking his place with his thumb. Stephen King again, but this time it was IT and not 'Salem's Lot.

Lauren (Flame) wrote: ""Aren't those too scary? Y'know, with all the scary, bloody stuff?" she shivered but smiled, hoping she could make a new friend."
((I know, it's great Silv!))
Raven threw back his head and laughed when she said that. He laughed hard; and only because it was so, so amazingly funny, what she said. Scary? He didn't get scared. Blood was a normal part of his dreams, if not his waking hours, and he couldn't say the sight of it made him nauseous. If anything, it made him want to laugh just like he was doing now. "No!" he chuckled, grinning with an almost maniac intensity. "It's not scary at all, girlie. I like King."

((I can see that. Two-line posts. -.-))
"Read the summary," Raven suggested, grin remaining simply because of amusement brought on by the thought that if he tried to describe the book to her, this girl would have nightmares only because of what he said. He held out the book silently It's about a crazy cannibalistic clown monster thing that eats children, he added in thought, trying to imagine the words coming from his own mouth. The thought made him chuckle again.

Eilir was back once again, this time perusing some of the "People" magazines. Scoffing at the sheer stupidity of some of the articles, she murmured something along the lines of, "Attention wh/res." Setting the aggravating magazine aside, she sat back onto one of the couches, rearranging her summery dress appropriately.

A surprised face appeared out from reading papers inside a Manila folder. "Need I ask why you're calling someone an attention whore?" He chuckled with an amused smirk on his face. This girl was definitely a patient he could tell, but not on that he recognized.
"Because it's the Kardashian sisters. I think that I am perfected justified to call them whatever cuss word I see fit. In their case, the kindest is 'attention whores.'" Eilir replied, raising an eyebrow at this nurse's chuckles.

"Sounds like quite a scandal then," Domonic noted as he turned the page to the next set of details to Cadenza's record. "Why do you care, though?"
"I don't. I just couldn't find anything to read, and the magazine was just there. I fear that I might have lost a couple brain cells." She grumbled.

"Well it seems a lot of the other patients like them, so we keep them so they're entertained. They're obviously not for everyone." Acdenza had neve shown an interest in them, either. The only time she ever touched them was when she needed to straighten them up and organize them.
Eilir's eyes widened as she realized that other people read these things. "And people think I'm insane."

Domonic laughed, shaking his head and looking back at the file in his hands. "It's for some of the nurses, too."
"So you read it, eh, Dom?" Eilir leaned back with a smirk, having just reconized the nurse.

"No one said that I was the one that read it," Domonic quickly held up his hands in defense. "How do you know my name, anyways? I don't think we've met."
"Wes mentioned you, once or twice, and I've seen you around with one of the OCD patients." Eilir replied, holding out a pale hand. "I'm Eilir."

"I'm sorry, but did you just say elf?" A perplexed expression crossed over the nurse's expression.
"Yes. Elf is Wes' childhood nickname, because he's terribly ashamed of his ears. He thinks they come to a point, but they really don't."

"You could say that." Or you could say the truth: Wes was her friend, the only one who'd stayed and painted her summer. Hell, Wes was summer! Eilir only grinned wider, as she thought about all the complexities of their friendship.
