"I don't think you do. I honestly, honestly don't think you do." Raven chuckled quietly, and shook his head at her. At his side, his left hand twitched, as if yearning to strike something, but he kept it still and only shot her a smile that contained all the eagerness of a wolf ready to attack. But he let her go, slowly almost reluctantly releasing first her head and then her shoulders, forcing himself to stand and start to walk away. When he looked back at her, his eyes held all the seeming of a devil's: there was nothing but danger and muted excitement there. "Have a care, Rosie," he said. His voice was somehow light, but from it there bled menace. "I could have hurt you."
And he was gone.

[Fade.]
Head spinning so violently, Rosemarie thought she was going to black out. She could feel herself shaking, shaking so much she thought she wouldn't be able to stop. But eventually, she had collected herself enough to stand again. Slowly, she stood on her shaking legs and unsteadily walked out of the library.
He could have hurt me. Really hurt me. This time, he wanted to.

The mistress of the black market for once sat out from her favored shadows, almost completely vulnerable. She sat in one of the plush chairs of the library, her feet kicked off of one end and her head hanging off the other. Short blonde hair hung down, and her hands were luxuriously draped behind her.
Roxie seemed relaxed, almost at peace. Green eyes were half-closed, and a little lazy smile was in place.
The dark lady wore a blood red shirt, which accentuated her curves, and a pair of dark jeans. The way she was sitting, her shirt rode up a little at the side, exposing a pale hip.

Across the room there sat the asylum's newest addition, in all his glory. Silas was sitting cross-legged at one of the library's tables, his hair tied up as usual, his sharp blue eyes roaming the room of books without focus. He and Cat had spent their first few days exploring and adjusting to St. Peter's, and it was the first time that he'd entered the library. Thus the unusual lack of focus. The sociopath was busy taking everything in: the books, the librarians, the nurses, the patients...and yes, there she was again. The tall blonde in the corner with her tight clothes and lazy smile. He'd been watching her for a little while, this girl who was definitely not a patient--he found it easy to recognize patients--but she didn't have the acute wariness of the nurses, either. What was she, then? He didn't know, and that made him curious.

She felt herself being watched. Green gaze glanced over at the boy, an unfamiliar face. He must've been new.
"Don't just sit there and stare," Roxie said, a teasing lilt in her tone. She didn't turn her head, but she knew the boy was listening.

Silas arched an eyebrow. "I'm sorry, was I staring? You're an interesting character, you know." He stood and made his way over to her corner, pulling out a chair and sitting down before giving her bared hip a disapproving glance. "And speaking of socially inappropriate behavior..." he trailed off pointedly, but raised his eyes to Roxie's hip to her face. Pretty, he decided, but not enough to stare at.

The black market laughed. "Don't give me sass, kid."
Roxie sat up, leaving one leg hanging off the side of the chair. She ran a pale hand through her short blonde locks.
"You new?"
Roxie sat up, leaving one leg hanging off the side of the chair. She ran a pale hand through her short blonde locks.
"You new?"
"Yes. I followed my sister in about a week ago." Silas's lips turned down in a slight frown at the first comment--this woman didn't look much older than he did--but let it slide for curiosity's sake. He wanted to know what this stranger's status was in the asylum (she certainly seemed arrogant enough to be a bigshot) and didn't think that snarking to her would help him get information. So he kept his tongue.

"Mental instability, minor anxiety disorder." Silas narrowed his eyes. "Who wants to know?" He was very careful when anyone asked about Cat; for she was indeed fragile--nevermind that it was his fault--and he didn't want to be drawing unwanted attention to her. Considering that they were in an asylum, he was just being especially cautious.

A shrug of her small shoulders. "Just a curious girl who makes it her business to know everyone and their doings."
Silas couldn't help it; a smirk of contempt made its way onto his sharp features. "Think yourself someone important, do you?"

Roxie laughed a little. "Hon, without me half the people in this place would be running around killing each other."
"Hmmm. You could have fooled me." Yes, she was definitely arrogant. But Silas shrugged and turned to the window, looking out at the grounds--now that he'd met the girl, she didn't seem quite as interesting as she had beforehand, and the other patients were always good ones to observe. If he was going to live out the next part of his life with them, he figured, he might as well get an early start on figuring out which ones were less stable.

"With you? Quite bored, Your Arrogance." No emotion was in his voice, but in his eyes unseen irritation flashed. Nerve, arrogance, and a heightened self-image--all the things Silas didn't like in a person. And he was stuck in a library alone with one who had all those qualities and more. Just his luck.

"You shouldn't be. That was not a compliment." Silas's features hardened, and one of the nurses happened to catch sight of his glare. For a moment, she froze, and then very quickly turned away. He immediately made an effort to reign himself in--it would not do to have an episode his first week after being admitted. There was no use in showing everyone what a danger he could really be; they already had showed their lack of trust when they enrolled him as high-security.

Another shrug. "I don't know, my arrogance is kind of my calling card."
Roxie narrowed her brows, and gave the bit a skeptical glance. "Do you have a reason for being here, hon?"
Roxie narrowed her brows, and gave the bit a skeptical glance. "Do you have a reason for being here, hon?"
"I was enrolled for my sister's benefit," Silas said coldly. The hardness of his tone wasn't because his own mental instability was a sensitive topic--no, he knew what his own problems were and had no issues with revealing them--but because his reasons for being in the asylum were significantly tied to Cat's, and he didn't want anyone finding out more than they should. Besides, this girl was rapidly, rapidly getting on his nerves.

"No." Silas dragged his nails across the wood of the table in slow irritation. This girl was quite quickly overstepping her boundaries, and he was very, very close to letting her have it. Reputation aside, he didn't see why he had to keep all the way in control--he didn't have to kill her, after all. Just teach her a lesson.

Roxie grinned. She could see his irritation clear as day. And it certainly entertained her.
"Whatever you say, hon."
"Whatever you say, hon."
((It won't be so entertaining when he decides to break her jaw...))
Silas had to bite his tongue to stay silent. This megalomaniac of a blonde was definitely pushing his buttons...and perhaps a little too hard. Still, he wasn't going to give her cause to report him and by extension prove her right--yet. He was going to give her a little leeway, just to make sure he could give Cat a justifiable explanation when word got out. Maybe he wouldn't have to do anything at all.

Green eyes glittered. "C'mon, kiddo. Tell "Her Arrogance" about your issues."

((Yeah, until Silas loses himself and beats her down. :P))
"If you would like to hear about my issues--" he spat the words, "--then I suggest going and asking a doctor, miss 'curious girl who likes to know everybody's business.' I've no reason to speak of myself here, especially not to someone like you."

She snorted. "I don't talk to the nurses, kiddo. I get my information directly from the patients."

((I'm also cool with it, though Silas is understandably hesitant. :P))
Again, Silas bit his tongue. She was trying to bait him, and he knew it--still, it was more than a little tempting to give in. He found solace in putting people in their places; it didn't always work, but it at least made him feel better in the heat of the moment. For now, though, he was at least somewhat determined to keep his head on his shoulders.

Silas couldn't help but give a cold smirk of his own. She was pushing him dangerously close to the edge, if she could make him start showing emotions. "Cat cannot find it in her to take hold of my tongue, girl."

Roxie arched another eyebrow, and the girl fell silent. She twirled a blonde around her finger, green gaze scrutinizing the boy in front of her, waiting for him to snap.
When no other words came, Silas found it just a little easier to relax. There were two options now, then: either the girl was trying to figure out what he meant by the comment, or she was truly beginning to doubt herself. He would bet his life on it being the former; still, it reassured him. Having to speak to his sister about this later on was going to be hard if he ended up snapping.

"I highly doubt it. I have been here a week, you stupid girl. I've made no connections." The roll of his eyes that followed was one of scorn. The eager blonde seemed to be having just a little too much fun trying to break him down. If he could help it, he wouldn't give her the satisfaction.

His laughter when it rang out was cold and mocking. "Catalina? She would never. If you knew her at all, you would know that." Cat would never give away information he had instructed her to hide--and though fear was definitely a factor, love was one too. She was truly devoted to him as a sister, and no matter what she acted like on occasion, she really, genuinely cared about his wants.

Silas began to tap a rhythm on the table with his fingers. "I don't know what your preferred methods of interrogation are," he said calmly, "but I advise you against using them. Any of them." He slowly turned towards her, revealing in his eyes a startling amount of anger. "Be mindful of what you do or say to my sister, girl."

"You do not want to know." His voice had gone soft, his tone was just as calm as ever--but his eyes blazed like blue fire, and he had visibly tensed. Should Roxie stray another step further from safety, he would break, and he would not hold back.

Unfortunately for her, Silas wasn't that out of control. He would wait, he decided, until she brought up his sister again, just to make sure. Just so he could reassure Cat that his snapping was justified.

Silas sensed her thoughts, and narrowed his eyes. "There is nothing to say, girl. Have I not made this clear?"

A little smile. "Okay. If you say so."
Roxie stood, pulling her shirt down to cover her exposed skin. "I think I'm going to go pay a little someone a visit. Toodles."
