Using that certain special way to get up to the rooftop like the sly little fox she was portraying, Cleo claimed onto the roof, dragging Jason by the hand. She glanced over her shoulder with a smirk of confidence. "How awesom are we?"
"We are very awesome," Jason said with a light chuckle. He glanced about them. "God, I bet we're one of the first few patients to ever get up here. This will totally be on our files as, like, 'disorderly conduct' or some shit like that." He laughed--it might earn them some negative points with the doctors, but the view right now and the alone-time without anybody unreasonable around was worth it.

"Right now, even disorderly conduct sounds awesome. But just in case they decide to suffocate us with guards, how about we try to not get caught?" After giving the boy a playful nudge, Cleo looked out onto the view. It was so different from anywhere else, even the top of the peach tree. If she took a deep breathe, she could almost taste freedom.
"Let's do that." Jason gave a light smile of amusement and followed her gaze, sighing. He, too, felt a wonderful sense of freedom from the tyranny that was the asylum. It was wonderful up here, and he could see everything in the grounds. "You know what we should do?" he asked suddenly, an idea striking him. A mischievous smile spread across his face and he pointed down to the guards below. "We should totally drop something heavy on those sons of sows down there and make a run for it once we're done tasting freedom. End our little rebellion with some flare."

Cleo's whole body tensed with her excitement as she gazed at Jason in a newly redound wonder. Where had this kid been with his distraction two years ago when she had needed a distraction most? Nonetheless, he was here now and that was what mattered.
"Careful, boy. You spew out anymore wondrous ideas of yours and I just might fall in love with you." Smirking, she faxed her gaze back onto the guards below them, who were oblivious to the rebellious patients above. "What's something up here that we can throw?"

((Awwww! I was about to ask if this was relationship worthy, LOL :D))
Jason smirked, but the expression was short lived and replaced quickly by thoughtfulness. He looked about them. "Ummm...we could use..." Problem was, he didn't know. While the roof was wonderfully fantastic when one wanted freedom, it wasn't much to look at and was rather bare. After a moment he shrugged helplessly and frowned. "I dunno, Cleo. What could we use?"

[It's Jason. Of course it's worthy! XD]
"I don't know. I asked you first." After standing up, she looked around on the roof, but found nothing. They couldn't just go grab something from one of their dorms, they were lucky enough to get up here the first time. "I don't know, either," she decided at last, sighing in defeat.

((My boy characters never cease to impress you, huh? XD I must have some sort of magic touch.))
Jason sighed with her, but then paused. He slowly adopted an expression of enlightenment. "I might have something," he said slowly, looking at her with what might have been slight mistrust. "But if I show it to you, you have to promise never to tell anyone. Ever. Okay? Can I trust you with that?"
((So what, you goin' to BCT?))

[Yes, you must.
And say what? Lol I'm confuzzled.]
Cleo nodded eagerly, a small smile flirting with her lips. "Okay, I promise. I won't tell a soul." To prove her point, Cleo held out her pinky as she would have in elementary school.

"Cool." Jason held out his own pinky, wrapped it about hers, and shook once. He released her hand and, slowly, searched his back pocket. He wasn't trying to be dramatic at all, but rather just careful because he didn't trust anyone with the secret he now had in his hand. Nonetheless, his hand came out of the pocket and opened to reveal the small, sleek form of a switchblade knife the guards had never found on him. Sometimes he carried it around, but he wasn't stupid and those times weren't often. Cleo had just gotten lucky. "You can't ever tell anyone I have him," he warned in a low voice, referring to the blade. He was dead serious. "If you do, I swear I'll kill you. I swear I will."

[Oh. Yeah. XD]
Round and wide yet still lit up with that excited spark, Cleo's eyes fell upon the small blade. "How did they let you keep that? I'm not even allowed to wear earrings!" She looked down at the guards then back at Jason. "I promise I won't tell anyone. Like I said before, I don't talk to many other people. But how are we going to use that for the guards?"

Jason shrugged. "I don't know," he said. "I just got lucky." Then he frowned a little, pressing the button on the little handle and caressing the flat of the blade with his thumb in thought. "Good question," he said. "I was just thinking we should do something violent and Ares here came to mind." He felt no shame in revealing the fact that he had named his knife after a war god; it made perfect sense to him. "I dunno if we could drop him on them 'cause he'd get taken away, but maybe now that you've seen him we can think of something else to do. Something that'll involve more pain. Those pricks need to suffer, Cleo." That last part was said with absolute venom and utter conviction, because Jason believed wholeheartedly in the truth of the statement.

Cleo shot him a look, slightly worried about his tone. Not that she disagreed, of course not, she just didn't want Jason to go into one of his spells. "Ares-cool name, by the way- could be used to... I dunno, cut the wires of something attached to something heavy and drop it on them?"
"Maybe." Jason still looked thoughtful, and then, looking down at the guards, spoke almost as if he'd just had an afterthought: "I should totally gut one of them."

[Yes.]
"Bad idea," Cleo argued with the shake of her head. "You'll get caught, then they'll put you in a room where you can't go anywhere and there's guards everywhere. Then you won't be able to see me or get out anywhere and that would just be awful."

"If that happened I'd just commit suicide," Jason said. He looked around, first at Cleo, then at nothing and then back down at the guards. "And what makes you think I'd get caught anyway?" he asked. "There are plenty of people who probably know how to gut a person, and some of them probably have hidden weapons too. They wouldn't have any proof it was Jason Turner." He looked back at her. "Right?"

"Witnesses," she pointed out, frowning at him. "There are other guards down there, and it would be stupid of you if you got in that serious of trouble. Then I can't think of a way to bail you out. Then you'd have to commit suicide and then I'd be sad. Which would just suck so don't be an idiot."
Jason laughed, but the sound had lost its humor. It was dry now, or at the very least emotionless. He thought he might be nearing one of his moods, which might explain it, but then he'd have to warn Cleo and she would leave--he really didn't want her to go yet. "Yeah," he said. "Okay. I won't do anything stupid." He stroked the blade again, the sharp edge this time, not even bothering to wince as it sliced through the skin of his finger. He barely felt the pain.

"Well damn, Jason!" Cleo's eyes widened again in surprise. "You shouldn't have done that, either." She ran a hand through her hair as her panic rose in her chest. She could sense that Jason was about to slip into one of his moods, and even though every instinct told her it was just best I she left, though she didn't want him to be alone through this mood. Reaching over as if to grab his hand, Cleo shook her head. "Why the hell did you do that?"
"I don't know." Jason tensed for some reason, not even knowing why. He put his finger in his mouth to suck off the blood, looking around from Cleo to the guards to the knife and back to Cleo again. "I don't know," he repeated, shaking his head. His eyes were on the knife once more as he spoke, and he kept pressing the button and watching the blade pop in and out as if mesmerized. "I just did."

Cleo met his gaze with a furrowed brow. "You all right now?" She laid a soothing hand on his arm, still unsure how they could have gone from goofing off on the roof to this.
"I guess." Translation: he had no idea and she should probably get out of there now, considering he had an actual knife in his hand and they were on the edge of a tall building.

[Hmmmm well Cleo's not going to leave, and obviously Jason isn going to be Ble to control himself after a while. So he's gonna end up snapping, I would think.]
Cleo wasn't one to abandon a friend in a time of need. Unfortunately, she had no idea how to snap Jason out of his mood. "Didn't you take a pill today?" She didn't think his medication could have already worn off, though she supposed it was a possibility.

((Okay.))
"Yeah. Way, way earlier. Like, eight in the morning." Jason was still pressing the button, trying to calm himself down with the sight of the weapon because sometimes it helped. Now did not seem to be one of those times, and after another dozen presses he just kept the blade unsheathed and stared at it. "I think it might have worn off," he said pointedly, turning to look at her, his face and voice oddly expressionless. "You should probably go, Cleo. I don't want to hurt you."

A scowl set on her face, Cleo met Jason's gaze again. "I'm not leaving. I don't want you alone when you're in a mood." She paused, brow furrowing once more. "Should we go back and get you a pill?"
"No. They'll lock me in my room," Jason muttered in protest. His knuckles were turning white he was holding his knife so hard, but he didn't seem to notice. He hadn't turned away from her though, so maybe he hadn't. "You should go," he repeated. "I'm fucking serious, I could hurt you."

"I'm fucking serious, too. I'm not leaving." Cleo crossed her arms over er stomach to show just how stubborn she was ping to be.
Jason turned and fixed his eyes on the ground far below them, gingerly setting the switchblade on the ledge and gripping the edge of it with his hands, hard. Anything to keep him from looking at her, or at the knife, or at them both simultaneously. That would make chaos. "Go, Cleo. It's coming, I can feel it. If you value your health and your life, you will run back down to the main floor right now."

"I doubt it." Jason took a deep breath and squeezed his eyes shut, nails digging into the stone ledge. Calm. Down. "Cleo, I'm worried. This is going to be a bad one, okay? Do you get that? I'm gonna go completely out of my mind in about five minutes." A wired time bomb, he thought. Tick, tock.

"Of course I get it. I just want to help you through it as best I can." She placed a hand on his forearm, giving it a tight squeeze. She had to admit, she was scared now. Not only was her friend going to suffer through a horrific murderous mood, but her own life and welfare was at stake as well.
"CLEO DON'T TOUCH ME!" His voice was frantic and scared. Jason whirled, eyes flashing, and smacked her hand away forcefully. As soon as he could he turned back to the ground, again closing his eyes tightly. The sight of her, the feel of her hand, had not helped. It had not helped at all. "You'll only make it worse if you touch me!"

"Okay. I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Cleo stared at the boy's back in fear as she massaged her stinging hand. Touching was worse, and she was sure that taking wouldn't help him either. She sighed, unsure of what to do.

"Just...just go." Jason took another deep breath and shuddered. It was hard to be conscious and perfectly aware when your mind collapsed and became overwhelmed with psychopathic urges despite your best efforts to keep it on its feet. "Cleo, you have about two minutes. I'm fucking going to shank you if you stay around and I won't even know that I did until hours afterwards. That would suck. So get out of here, get a nurse or something." He sounded surprisingly calm, even to himself, despite the panic rapidly welling inside him. "Tell whoever it is that you were in the park and saw me leaning over the ledge. They'll get me, secure me, and you'll be safe. You won't even get in trouble for coming up here. Do it, Cleo."

Eyes widened in absolute terror, Cleo could only look back into Jason's frightened eyes, speechless for the moment. Now she actually had to decide whether or not she wanted to leave him or not. Which was best for him?

"Get out, Cleo!" Jason grabbed his blade off the ledge and threw it across the roof, where it smacked into the wall with a gentle ping! He wanted it as far away from him as possible when the mood hit, and it was dangerously close now. "Get out, get out now and don't stop running until you hear me screaming and security calling for fucking backup!" He didn't dare turn around again and face her, because he was, almost involuntarily, hunching over and had started trembling uncontrollably. Cleo had mere seconds.

Cleo couldn't decided in mere seconds exactly what she wanted. Withy he knife gone, ah figured it wouldn't be as bad now, the least he could do was use his hands. Her own flew to her neck, where her scarf had been repositioned. In one quick motion, she flung the scarf off her neck and let it sail over the roof, down to the guards below as a signal for help. Racing away from the ledge, Cleo was sure to keep her distance from Jason no matter how badly she wanted to slap him out of it.
Jason didn't move, only squeezed his eyes shut as tight as he could and dug his fingernails into the palms of his hands. Pain helped sometimes, helped deter the rampage, and he was trying to buy his friend a few extra seconds. "GOD DAMN IT CLEO GET OUT OF HERE NOW RIGHT FUCKING NOW BECAUSE IT'S COMING AND I CAN'T STOP IT!" He was trying his very best not to shout, but after a moment the urge became too strong and he threw his head back and screamed at the sky. "IT'S COMING AND I CAN'T FUCKING STOP IT! GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE RIGHT NOW, CLEO! RIGHT FUCKING NOW!"

Not having the ability to argue anymore with her raging panic, Cleo simply shook her head and squeezed her eyes shut. She hoped tat if she shut her eyes, whatever pain that woul come to her wouldn't hurt as badly. Don't you dare leave him, Cleo. If you couldn't help Abby, you can at least try and help him. Stay right here you're and brave yourself for a lot of fucking pain.

That was it, he could hold it off no longer. Jason sprang across the roof, hardly aware of what he was doing. But his knife was in his hand and he was pressing the button and the next thing he knew, he was knocking into Cleo and pinning her with his knees and the blade was suddenly buried in her forearm, all four inches of it. The blood came fast and red and wonderful, and Jason brought the knife out dripping. The sight of blood excited something in him, something animal and wolflike, and smears of red colored his vision. He was panting slightly, and his voice came out clear and high and excited. "Stay still, Cleo. Just stay still while I finish."

[This is great! It's sad that I have to leave soon.]
The screams came before she even felt the pain, but eventually she did. Once the blade was secured into her forearm, it began to burn, spewing a hot red liquid-blood- all over herself and Jason as it leaked down her arm. It was do hard not to thrash around against the pain, she hadn't been prepared for anything quite like this. Her high-pitched screams of terror were hurting her ears, but she couldn't stop. It hurtled so bad. Years sprang into her eyes, leaking over onto her sunken in cheeks. "Jason, please stop! Please, please stop! It hurts so bad." She choked down a sob.

((:D Glad I'm doing well.))
And then he was laughing. Laughing with shrill, terrifying malice. He didn't know why, maybe it was the screams, but Jason dug the knife into Cleo's arm again even as guards came shouting and horrified up onto the roof. "Stay still!" he shrieked, cackling madly. "Stay still!" The knife came out and then back in again, but that was all Jason got to enjoy. For then there was pain, so much pain, pain worse than he'd ever felt as half a dozen guards came down on top of him, kicking and punching and using nightsticks. But he was still laughing, laughing and screaming at the same time even as he started to lose his grip on consciousness, even as black spots overwhelmed his vision and his body went limp under a blanket of already blossoming bruises and he was dragged away. He loved the sound of her screams. He loved it so, so much.

[Fade.]
Cleo screamed, though it was a different kind of scream. Instead of cries of pain, these were wails of terror. She was screaming Jason's name, screaming his name over and over as though he hadn't just stabbed her repeatedly. Her arm ached so badly, though and there was blood everywhere. She only had time to hope that Jason would be all right before blackness darkened her vision and she blacked out.

She was screaming Jason's name, screaming his name over and over as though he hadn't just stabbed her repeatedly. Her arm ached so badly, though and there was blood everywhere. She only had time to hope that Jason would be all right before blackness darkened her vision and she blacked out.
Jason didn't exactly know how he'd gotten back up on the roof. All memory of coming with Cleo the first time had just about been erased by his rampage that day, no matter how hard he tried to remember the good times they had before he attacked her. Now he supposed, standing up on the shingles and overlooking the grounds, that he must have good instincts. After all, he was here, wasn't he?

Unlike he handsome friend below, Cleo had been sure to remember exactly how they had arrived on the rooftop the day he had stacked her. She thought of it sort of as "their" place. There secret hideout. The othe patients had the basement, but her and Jason had the roof. When she caught sight of him, she couldn't help but grin. "Beautiful," she called out with a little wave and slid off the peak she sat upon just above Jason. "They finally let you out? I knew if I begged pretty please long enough they'd give in to this pout."
Jason looked up at her and grinned. "I guess so," he said with a light chuckle. "Maybe after you calmed me down a couple days ago they realized it might be safer for them if I were around you more often. Would get me out of their hair, anyway, and keep their ears free of threats." He shook his head, looking down at the guards below with an expression of amusement. "I wasn't a good little patient for them, that's for sure."
