Phillip | 34 comments so, all the song of ice and fire books on audible have been jacked up in price and are now 2 credits. i don't know when this happened, whether it was at the beginning of the show or more recently. i can say definitively that this was not always the case. there was a time when these books were 1 credit each.

so is this business as usual? a book becomes popular, starts getting a lot of downloads, and we go into supply and demand mode? call it "good business" if you want... i call it kind of a jerk move, audible or the publisher or whoever decides these things.

i've read all the books before but decided to burn a few credits getting them from audible because, well, i like to listen to books as well. however, i can't justify spending almost a years supply of credits on books that i've already read. or spending over $200.

so lame.

audible, i still love you but you're pushing me. now to decide whether to download hunger games with my next credit or just read the 4 dollar kindle version.

Aaron (scruffynerfer) Your lucky, for some reason we don't even get the game of thrones series on audible at all the UK which sucks big time :(

Mike (isbeorn) | 29 comments When I opened my audible account a year ago I used the two free credits Game of Thrones. I haven't gotten the others yet. I've read all 4 existing books multiple times, but I have this urge to own all forms of the series.

Feast for Crows I've only read twice, and its been two years since that second read. I'm thinking of using the two audible credits I'll get soon to get Feast so I can get a nice refresher before Dance comes out.

I can tear through audio books in a few days, but I only get an hour or so a day to read physical books. There's no way I could finish reading Feast before Dance comes out at this point.

Alex | 36 comments Just get the cd audio books from your local library system and rip em'. In ohio they have a library outreach system so even if you county doesn't have it you can get it if another counties library system does. As for ripping a 36 disc audiobook, I work a portion of my day in front of a pc and rip discs while doing busy work. It really only takes about one workday to get it all done. The reward, forever owning a digital copy of a really expensive audiobook, for free.
