I don't remember alot about the book , but I do remember some things from the book. I remember that it was about a girl( or boy. To be honest I'm not really sure) who lives with her parents. I think her parents were witches or that they were really into using natural remedies and magic. In one scene of the book, she/he is at a friend's house. The friend has a microwave. The narrator says something along the lines of "I've seen pictures of microwaves in magazines, books, but I never seen one in real life". When the microwave beeps, it is really loud and it scars her. That's all I remember. Thanks
OP was last active one year ago and was in college at the time according to her profile. So I'm guessing that the point of the microwave was that the friend was, or should have been, surprised at the MC's unfamiliarity with the appliance. I'm guessing this one is abandoned, and without an actual suggestion I don't feel motivated to send a PM.
Microwaves were around in the mid/late 70's as well. Actually, they were around even before that, but that's when they began to be pushed as home appliances.
