Stephen (havan) | 548 comments I'd like to recommend that when books are added to this folder that the poster be sure to nclude a link to the book title and author in the initial post. That way the thread will appear under the book's mainpage as a discussion involving this book.

I recently saw the thread on Target here when I was looking for something else. I've previously read the book and reviewed it but missed the dicusion here because no one had included a link like that above and the book's main page shows no discussions exist about this book.

Nancy | 2838 comments That's a good suggestion, Stephen. As this book was not nominated for our group discussion, it was not included on the group's main page. A few of us just decided to read the book together and discuss it here.

Brian | 35 comments How do we do this? Stephen or Nancy can you explain please.

Stephen (havan) | 548 comments It's really pretty simple. When one selects to start a new topic the first box that you can type in is for the topic title and is labelled TOPIC. The second is labelled "THIS TOPIC IS ABOUT" and any typing here brings up a selection box of books that match what you've typed. Then there's the folder selector and then the box for your comments.

Putting the name of the book in the second box, the "this topic is about" box will make the discussion appear not only in this segment of our discussions but will cause it to appear near the bottom of the book's detail page. (The page that's displayed when you click on a book from your bookself)

Others, whether they're members of this group or not will be able to see the discussion. If they join our group they can add to that discussion as well.

(Brian apparently you figured this out quite well as your topic about Money Boy now appears at the bottom of that book's details page)

Nancy | 2838 comments Oh, that's because I added the book title to Brian's topic. I'm working on the others also.

Stephen (havan) | 548 comments Yeppers! Moderators can edit topic data. But the original creator of the topic can alter theirs as well.

message 7: by Nancy (new)

Nancy | 2838 comments Yes, the original creator can do so as well. I'm just trying to save everyone a little work.

Stephen (havan) | 548 comments Thanks for that! I was just telling the original posters so as to spread the owrd fatser.

message 9: by Nancy (new)

Nancy | 2838 comments Thanks, Stephen, and sorry I didn't get to this sooner. As far as past discussions go, feel free to add to them. I know people are busy and don't always get to the group reads on schedule, so I just leave the discussions open indefinitely.

Thanks Stephan. Though I not exactly sure what I did! But I'll do it again the next time I post. Thanks for the great idea.
