I'm wondering when is he EVER going to publish his next one!!!

I read, absolutely AGES ago, that he was on another novel... I wonder if he will be a "one hit wonder"... riding the wave of success with this book!

S.J. Watson's next book is finished! It will be coming out early 2015 (he said Spring 2015 which is our Autumn) It's called "Second Life" :):)

I have had this book sitting on the shelf for months and months now. I must move it to nearer the top of the TBR pile now, just so that I can read it with Colin Firth's voice in my head.

Hmm...I've not read this book yet...I wonder if it's cheap on the Kindle.

I'M going to bother with it...But I suspect I won't enjoy it like the rest of the hype will....It's so rare I enjoy any booked that is hyped..when it's made into a movie.

I went to see Before I go to Sleep this evening. It was pretty good. Maybe a tad slow? Best for people who have not read the book because if you do not know who the baddie is it is much more gripping. Nicole acts her little socks off and Colin is pretty good too. I cried at the end. I often cry in movies though:)

Overall it is yes. She uses a camera in the movie to record her days rather than writing but that is better for the film. I would say in this case the book is better than the film though.

I think I will have to hurry myself up and read this book then go see the movie. My daughter went to see Gone Girl the other day. She said she enjoyed it but I told her not to tell me anything as I haven't read that book yet either. I noticed a lot of people not that impressed with it.

Gone Girl the movie was amazing Veronica, dark and a tad more violent and explicit then the book. IMO it was slightly better then the book and the ending was clearer.

She is a wonderful Actress, our Nicole Kidman. I saw the preview of this movie and it looks great. I would love to see it...hopefully sometime soon.

I'm always too slow with getting to books that the movie is always on dvd with me as I have to read the book first. Looking forward to this one though.

Seriously if you have not read Before I Go To Sleep yet don't read it before you see the movie. It will make the movie SO much more interesting and enjoyable just because you don't know who the bad man is:)

LOL! That's a lot of the main reason why I don't watch movies made from books I've read...one way or the other (to me) it's not as good!

It's funny I tell my kids they need to read the book first, but really they're old enough to make their minds up, I probably should let them do what they're happy with! That's interesting Brenda that you don't watch them, probably not a bad idea as I tend to critique and compare a lot, and they're not 'meant' to be the same thing. I was commenting away when my mum was watching 'The Help' last Christmas hols as I'd just read and watched it myself. It would have been annoying for her!

I saw the movie yesterday afternoon too, and I agree with Michael's comments.Very well acted and the video diary was an excellent adaptation for screen.Very faithful to the book, and it didn't matter that we had both read the book, we still really enjoyed it.
Also saw the shorts for Serena, starring Jennifer Lawrence, which appears to be based on Serena by Ron Rash, another book in my TBR that I need to get to! The movie looks very good and JL looks quite different, it was her voice that twigged with me.

Sounds great. Will definitely see this one but maybe not Gone Girl.

I went to see it this morning, as it's already down to one session per day at my local. Overall I thought it was fairly well done, except for the horror-movie violins during the reveal of the big twist (that sort of thing really annoys me). I was very happy with Nicole as Christine, maybe not quite so convinced by Colin Firth as Ben. But the one I wasn't happy with was Dr Nash; not just the changes to his character but also the actor who played him.

On the whole, I think any of us who have enjoyed the book, will also enjoy the movie.

I saw the movie....i actually found it hard to get into n it took 3 attempts to finally finish it...i am glad that i stuck with it though. I haven't read the book yet which is why i watched the movie on the plane. I think at some stage I'd want to read the novel just to see if i find it more compelling or if I'll have troubles getting into it because ive seen the movie already.

I read this back in 2012. Someone from work handed it to me & said 'This is great. You'll love it." I know I did enjoy it, it was very easy reading. I think I was working nights & finished it in one shift. I rated it 7/10 but didn't give it a review back then.

It's a bit like identity theft, isn't it? First you've got to get someone to believe you. Now, there's one of the horrors of modern life that I shudder to think about.

Finally read this a few months ago. I dont think it was amazing by any means, there were a few plotholes & bits that didnt make sense if you thought too hard about them, but for the most part I really enjoyed it regardless. I read the last 120ish pages in a single sitting, and any book that can captivate me like that certainly gets points.
Not interested in seeing the movie adaption though, dont like Nicole Kidman at the best of times & Mark Strong seems somewhat miscast.

Whats with the hate for Gone Girl though? No masterpiece but still a really solid film.

I loved Gone Girl. It is very Fincher though, so not everyone's cup of tea I suppose.

So stylish.

The ending was the weakest bit for sure, yeah.

I agree, didn't like the ending at all, but thats the fault of the source material. Definitely loses marks for that, but given what he had to work with, Fincher did a fantastic job.
