George Gigounas | 1 comments If anyone happens to read this, could use an assist. In "A Distant Mirror," Tuchman reprinted and briefly discussed an excellent, vivid poem about the lack of magic or grace in the process of sickness and dying. By an Italian poet, if memory serves, but I cannot be sure. I believe the poem is either in the forward or one of the early chapters. I have lost my copy of the book and it is driving me crazy not finding this. Anyone able to identify the poem or poet?

I can only think of Girolamo Fracastoro and I do not have my copy with me either. I will look further and if I come up with something I will post it here.
