Hello fellow fantasy authors! Reading through various threads I find this group very interesting and interactive. We all have taken the time to write straight out of our imaginations and had the courage to share it with the world.
I carried great concepts with me for years, but never dared put into a novel for fear that I am not good at it. Then something came to mind. The ones that are out there are not great either. If one were to dissect the books out there and scritinize them, there will always be something about it; we are humans after all and that means that our jobs will have flaws. Nothing is perfect, it all fluctuates according to the eye of the beholder.
I figured that it is all a matter of writing for a specific audience. If they love the concept and the story-telling, they will forgive whatever flaws they might find. Like making friends, you accept them for who they are and how they make you feel; if a book makes you feel, whatever it makes you feel will translate in how much you like it.
To write is to take a journey into the unknown. If you enjoyed the journey once it is completed, then somebody else might enjoy it as well. That is how I write. I write for myself first and then I share it with others. That is how The Nine Orders came to be. It is far from perfect, but the journey was exciting and intriguing to me and for the first time I felt I had something to share with the world.
I encourage everyone to continue their journeys. We all have stories to tell and I have enjoyed lots of them. Thank you for your time!
