Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

Newbie librarian here!

Problem:
This is a Goodreads author André Aciman
And here's another profile for the same author: Andre Aciman.
I can't merge them, so is there a way I (or someone else) can delete the second profile?

Goodreads authors can't be merged by librarians, but if you post in this thread, Rivka will merge it. :)

What about authors that use different names in different countries?
Like Duane Swierczynski (in English editions) who is called Duane Louis in the German editions. Because of this the English and German editions can't be merged. So should those two author names be merged and is it even possible without one of the names being overwritten?

No, one would be overwritten. I would use the same version of the name as primary author, so it can be combined, then use "Duane Louis" as a secondary author, in the German editions, so that author profile would still show those books.
