Quick! Throw out the cigarettes. I think RA is losing his mind... or something else that he's willing to share.

Sorry! I've been distracted by all of the other TC topics lately. I won't say I've kicked it completely, but all in all I've done over a week smoke-free, but not necessarily with the days back-to-back.
Oooooo, do I smell paint fumes? Did someone get out the bronze body paint?
They don't entirely count when they're non-consecutive, I will admit. It's just more encouraging, I guess. I'm such a wimp!

Every time you buy a pack (which you shouldn't be) think of what you could do with that money instead, like put it into an IRA.

I bought a pack of menthols once when I was trying to quit and discovered that I didn't mind smoking menthols. And when I really wanted a cigarette, I would have taken dried donkey shit rolled in paper. In fact I once did something sort of like that but not really. I cut some grass from the yard and put it in a brown lunch bag and dried it in the drier. Then I rolled it up in a portion of the lunch bag and smoked it. All that made me do was go and get a pack of cigarettes.

Sorry to hear it, Amber. It's hard to break longstanding habits under the best of circumstances, and if you're under a lot of stress it only becomes more difficult. Maybe you can summon up the willpower for another attempt soon. Good luck.

Around here, the drug stores sell Winchester Little cigars. They look like cigarettes but brown, are packaged like cigarettes, are slightly cheaper than cigarettes, and taste absolutely nasty.

So here's a random update for you:I quit smoking, cold-turkey, no regrets. It's been over a week.
That's great. Keep going. I stopped cold turkey 8.5 years ago.
It will actually be really easy to keep it up. Turns out, the easiest way to quit smoking is to get knocked up! :)

I'd like to quit too, though I only smoke 3-ish times a day. But, until I get Mr. Amy to quit I probably never will. I've cut him down by half...I'm working on it. He now gets a daily allowance and I dole them out to him. :)

It is definitely harder with other smokers in the same house, but in order to do his part, my husband has to quit too. He's having a harder time without the same motivation, but he's doing ok.
Knocking up? As in chapping on someone's door, or getting them pregnant?
