message 152: by Kristie (new)

Kristie (spedkristie) Dr. Van Ripple was just telling the girls that his assistant was a bit loopy and mute, but was convinced dark forces are within her...but thats it...so they just have the basics, but they feel its related to the Tree of All Souls, but no solid stuff. yet.

message 153: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Ahhh.....I thought they already gave the name? Ack, sorry I gave some away.

message 157: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Hahaha!!!! He is sexy....but I like Christina, hate Meredith. At least in this episode. Before that I only moderately disliked her.

message 158: by Kristie (new)

Kristie (spedkristie) i love christina's spunk.....love izzy's compassion, meredith's negativity is a necessary evil.....and I am starting to like korev...

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) | 501 comments Ken, I'd buy one of your bumper stickers!

message 162: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) | 501 comments Emma, I'll be going to youtube, too. I'm probably the only person who didn't see the Fey/Palin thing but I'm dying to see it now!

message 163: by Emma (last edited Sep 26, 2008 08:25AM) (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Yes!!! Or better yet, put it on buttons to attach to purses and then I'll remember to go to the used bookstores close to my house when I'm out!

message 164: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Hahaha, it's too funny.

message 165: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) | 501 comments My 7 year old was reading to me during the first few minutes of Grey's so I made my husband watch if for me (he HATES Grey's, by the way) and he told me "some guy just died on here and I think it's that McDreamy Guy." I was like, no way would they kill him off but he insisted. I think he was disappointed when he saw it was just a dream!

message 166: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Hahaha! Yes, I couldn't believe it. I didn't really like the first episode though. Except for Christina's army surgeon guy. Hehehe, "So?"

Krista (findyourshimmy) | 382 comments *coming back to reality*

Yea, me! I managed to go through two stores and not buy any books. I was at Target and found two books I really wanted to pick up. Then I remembered I have to read 10 books I already own before I can pick up another so I simply set the books back and walked away.

Then, this morning, I had to run into WalGreens quick. I didn't even saunter down the book aisle.

I think I might be on my way to recovery... Or perhaps it's still to early to tell.

message 168: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Wow Iki! Bravo!!!! And when you finish those ten books, tell us what you think. :) THEN go back to the addiction. But you can never really time it.....

message 169: by [deleted user] (new)

Holy Iki! That took some courage!

message 170: by Krista (new)

Krista (findyourshimmy) | 382 comments And now I read everyone's comments on the "splurge" thread and I so want to hit up our local Goodwill for some scavenging. Within two hours of me, I can hit five GWs and at least one great used bookstore, another not so great used bookstore, and two B&Ns.

Oye, I've got to stear my car straight home. No stopping.

*Do not pass "Go." Do not purchase books. Do not look down book aisle. Go directly home.*

message 171: by Emma (last edited Sep 26, 2008 01:15PM) (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Hahah! On the brightside, think how much gas you're saving! (Money that, if you walk, you could buy books with). I'm not helping, am I?

message 172: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments I was thinking the same thing!

message 173: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Nice Fiona!!! That's great! Oh well, we can't all have PERFECT will power!

message 174: by Krista (new)

Krista (findyourshimmy) | 382 comments Emma - That's it. You have to stop be SOOO helpful. You're going to help me right into debt! ;-)

message 175: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Haha, probably!!! But being helpful is just in my nature. It cannot be stopped!

message 176: by [deleted user] (new)

Ann I like the idea of reading 10 books before you buy a new one. I am going to borrow your idea if that's okay.

message 177: by [deleted user] (new)

Ken: That's funny that your thinking another Great Depression. I just said that to a co-worker today. Several companies out here have ceased giving raises, mine is one of them! It stinks.

message 178: by [deleted user] (new)

Love the bummper sticker Ken. just think you have 1200 customers right here! :)

message 179: by [deleted user] (new)

Iki: you can't go to the splurge thread. I decided it's dangerous!

message 180: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Awww, oh well, forget willpower!!!!

message 181: by Ann from S.C. (new)

Ann from S.C. | 1395 comments Yes Emilee, but I think I stole it from Iki, except she has been a bad girl and bought more books!! Bad, bad girl!!! lol

message 182: by Krista (new)

Krista (findyourshimmy) | 382 comments Yeah, and now I even bought another two. I'm failing miserably at this.

Okay, but you have to hear me out. (Especially you, Emma. You'll totally back me up.)

Hubby and I stopped and Goodwill today to look for bookshelves. Lord knows I need more of them! Anyway, while I was there I couldn't not walk passed the books...hellllloooo.

So, I found the first book in a series I own and a hardcover of A Great and Terrible Beauty. After all the praise Emma's been giving it, I had to pick it up.
___________________________

Oops on my part... I told hubby about my whole need to read ten books to purchase a new book and now he says I'm in the whole and really need to read 30 books before I can pick up my next. Oye!

So here's the next part of my scheme. I want to lose weight also. So, for every pound I lose it counts as a book read.

Who am I kidding? You can't teach and old dog new tricks and you certainly can't un-addict a book/shop-aholic.

message 183: by [deleted user] (new)

I am not going to count my in the hole! It would be bad. Worst part is my kids are the same way! I am raising book addicts! But that's a good thing!

message 184: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments YESSS!!!!!!!! :D Iki, that's GREAT!!!

message 185: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments So0o0o I almost brought a book yesterday. I called the BS and told them to hold it for me but I would not go and get it BUT I did pre-order 3 books and requested 3 books at 2 different libraries AND just when I thought I had enough someone gave me 2 more books to read.

I don't know when I will have the time but I think I will go with Iki and for every book I read I will have to lose a pound!!!

message 186: by Donna (last edited Sep 29, 2008 12:14PM) (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments OK so I went to the library picked up 2 books and then someone came to my office and told me about 2 other books so now I have to read them first.

From the library:
Lady Q
The Secret Life of Bees

From Co-Worker:
All the Pretty Horses
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan

From Borders:
Lullaby
Shantaram
The Library Diaries

Where I am going to find the time to do class work???

message 187: by [deleted user] (new)

Good Luck Donna. It's called no sleep!

message 188: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments What is this sleep you talk about??

message 189: by Linda (new)

Linda | 887 comments Emilee, Sleep is overrated. Just close one eye and read with the other. Every hour or so switch eyes.

message 190: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments THX for the advice Linda!!

message 191: by Lori, Super Mod (new)

Lori (tnbbc) | 10628 comments Mod
Wow, this was one of the threads I kept putting off and putting off... it had so many new reponses that I couldnt keep up... so now I finally check it all, and I see that we have some naughty members who hijacked the discussion!!

Tsk Tsk...

But then bravo on getting it back on track !!

If you guys/gals would like to start a TV thread, you totally can. When you notice the topic is changing, thats usually a great time to start a new thread... just something to think about... for future hijacks :)

You know me and my OCD!!!

message 192: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments Your the boss Lori!

message 193: by [deleted user] (new)

My youngest wakes up w/nightmares so I usually get up about 1 am and start reading stop when he needs me usually about 1:15, finish the chapter then go back to bed. So yes sleep is a bit over rated.

With all the books on my TBR list I really need to get reading!

message 194: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Sorry Lori! Grey's was on and I just couldn't resist, although I totally get the OCD, I think it comes with being a mod. I've been reading library books and I haven't felt the desire for new ones since I got Nick and Norah and City of Ashes from the library. Whoa...I'm starting to recover. NO!!!!

message 195: by Krista (new)

Krista (findyourshimmy) | 382 comments Emma - You're clearly in denial. Recovery? Nah, it's just a slow week or two. :-)

message 196: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Haha, you are probably right Iki.

message 197: by Krista (new)

Krista (findyourshimmy) | 382 comments I'm past denial and trying to recover. I'm a book addict and I so darn good at it...see my recent post in The Latest Splurge thread (if you can find is since it seems I'm updating there every other day).

message 198: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments LOL! I saw it, wow that was a lot of books!
