Angela | 1 comments I am working on finishing Dead and Gone and I just picked up The Passage from the library. I can't wait to get started!

I have got to start reading the Gretchen Lowell series. I have #1 on my shelf.

Gretchen (gkonkler5) I have like 30 pages left of Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal. This book has taken me forever to read.

Been trying to get Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Palfinished so I get back to Cell by Stephen King. Think that should be quick read.

message 5: by Caroline (new)

Caroline (caro7) I'm reading Still Missing and probably will finish tonight. Then it's on to something lighter like a book by Bill Bryson or Living Oprah: My One-Year Experiment to Live as TV's Most Influential Guru Advises. I also have a book of Sookie Stackhouse short stories on my night table that I could continue reading. I just need to be finished with whatever I choose before The Magician King comes out on August 9th.

Melissa (melissa419) | 123 comments I am about halfway through Every Last One by Anna Quindlen. I'm enjoying it a lot so far; I really like Quindlen's writing style.

message 7: by Melki (new)

Melki I was surprised and delighted to find Ann Patchett's "State of Wonder" in the new section at the library. Started it last night.

message 8: by Amy (new)

Amy A Dance with Dragons by George R. R. Martin.

I am very envious! I am still in the hold line for that one.

message 10: by Theresa (new)

Theresa I just took back to the library several books that I could not muster much enthusiasm for. Then I picked up Very Bad Men (David Loogan #2), The Katyn Order: A Novel, and My New American Life: A Novel. I will probably try them in that order. The one book that didn't go back to the library yet is The Madonnas of Echo Park. I'm going to finish that.

I'm looking forward to My New American Life.

message 12: by Elise (new)

Elise Theresa, I really liked The Madonnas of Echo Park. Stick with that one!

I'm in the middle of Dreams of Joy, Lisa See's sequel to Shanghai Girls. It's good, but not as good as the predecessor. Her depiction of Communist China under Mao is very good, though.
Next up is Before I Go to Sleep.

Dannielle Insalaco | 51 comments I just started Backseat Saints...I only on page 5 but I loved The Girl Who Stopped Swimming so I have high hopes!

message 15: by Laurel (new)

Laurel (laureljean) I'm reading Untouchable by Scott O'Connor and about to start The Bialy Eaters by Mimi Sheraton. I'm immersed in Untouchable, but it's so so sad; it stops my breath at times.
