Marja Verschoor-Meijers (marja_meijers) | 495 comments Whether we are in the USA or in Holland, we are always having a small group meeting in our house. We are always looking for good study books to read and discuss. Have you ever studied a book in a (bible study)group that turned out to be life changing?

Anita Estes (neatwriter) | 11 comments My book, When God Speaks has an accompanying consumable workbook if you'reinterested. You can check out the e book at http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_nos...
I also recommend No Perfect People and Becoming a Woman of Prayer--two powerful books!

Marja Verschoor-Meijers (marja_meijers) | 495 comments Okay, why not endorse Grace of Giving. We use it in our small group at home and it turns out to be a life changing book. We see people getting free from fear of lack, we see people become generous and happy, we see people being set free from bondage because they learn to give themselves to God!

Susan (susanrohrer) | 320 comments Hi, Marja. Below are four books that have been used as study guides with groups:

Never the Bride is fiction, but great for singles. Portait of a Woman and Jesus is being used by women's groups and has a companion workbook. A friend of mine is just starting a study of Francis Chan's book, Crazy Love, which is great. Then (please forgive me for suggesting my own book) THE HOLY SPIRIT: Amazing Power for Everyday People. Most of my career has been as a filmmaker, but I wrote this book as a study guide for groups and individuals interested in this often marginalized subject. I know it's been life-changing for me. :)Susan

Never the Bride A Novel by Rene Gutteridge Portrait of a Woman and Jesus He Looked Through Her Eyes and into Her Heart by Barbara Quillen Egbert Crazy Love Overwhelmed by a Relentless God by Francis Chan THE HOLY SPIRIT Amazing Power for Everyday People by Susan Rohrer

Marja Verschoor-Meijers (marja_meijers) | 495 comments Thank you Susan, it's okay to recommend your own book, why not? I have read Francis Chan, the DVD that comes with the book is awesome!
I have added your book to my to-read list. Is it only available as e-book?

Susan (susanrohrer) | 320 comments Thanks, Marja. I just added your book to my to-read list, too. It looks great! Have you thought about making it available as an eBook soon? (I love to read eBooks whenever possible.) To answer your question, yes, my book is exclusively an eBook. I just use the free Kindle app, but it seems to be the wave of the future for people to curl up with their Kindles to read. :)Susan

Thanks for your recommendations, maybe we should set up a topic for e-books in this group....

Thanks for the link, Marja. I peeked at the sample on Amazon and it looks great.

Yes, maybe a topic on eBooks would be helpful. Also, since so many authors are in this group, a thread about Christian reviewer resources could be interesting. :)Susan

Marja Verschoor-Meijers (marja_meijers) | 495 comments Feel free to start a thread Susan, I have to dig up some of my contacts and addresses as far as reviews are concerned. it would be a great help for the authors in this group! Great idea.

Mary Findley | 14 comments We have an e-book, Biblical Studies, that covers OT and NT books plus a Major Prophets Background study, and correlates with free videos we have up on YouTube. Jonah and Ruth are for younger students, and other studies my husband taught in Adult SS. Even has a Revelation series. Questions are included and Answer key in the back. Working on a revision/expansion, but still plenty of good material. Available on Amazon and Scribd.com

Patricia | 34 comments I just reviewed: "Amazing Grace ...As Christ Walks By" by Carol Cline.

https://thejoyofthewrittenword.wordpr...

It may not have been written as a small group book, but I think it would suit that role.

Check it out, and see what you think.

Patricia

Jason Coleman | 8 comments We are putting the finishing touches on a small group study guide for our marriage book, Discovering Your Amazing Marriage (Seraphina Press, 2010). It is an 8-week study that can be done individually, as a couple, or as a small group. It's small enough that we are most likely going to only offer it as an ebook or in a booklet form.

We are teaching a marriage workshop at an Awana Leadership Conference in October in Spokane, WA and in Everett, WA and we will have booklets available at those events.

I know several of you in this group have added our book to your reading list. When you purchase it and start reading it, if you're interested in the study guide send me an e-mail and I'll send you a free ebook study guide. The only attached string is that I'd like some honest / critical feedback on it! Fair enough?

Thanks!
Discovering Your Amazing Marriage
