Faye | 2 comments Have you seen this - Gollancz to launch the world's largest digital SF library including back catalogues & out of print books

Jon (jonmoss) | 889 comments Connie Willis and Marion Zimmer Bradley are two of the feature authors. Sweet!

Candiss (tantara) I had read that Gollancz was in a flurry of activity surrounding their 50th anniversary, (including planning a relaunch of 5 SF and 5 Fantasy titles based on results of a reader poll of favorite Gollancz-attached SF/F books and making the upcoming version the Encyclopedia of SF online, searchable, and free) but I didn't know about this. Very cool!

(I just noticed they had moved to the next phase beyond that reader poll I mentioned by putting up the 50-book shortlist: http://www.gollancz50.com/)

Carolyn (seeford) | 203 comments Very cool! I would love to be able to get my hands on the all the classic & pulp scifi and the early works of authors I've grown to love over the years!

This is the best reason yet I've seen to get an e-reader (because I'm generally not interested in them, but if they could hold a whole library of these works, hmmmm...)

Cindy (newtomato) | 121 comments This is fantastic news! I hope it's really successful for them, so they can expand.

Michelle (fireweaver) | 344 comments well, fortunately, my iPad doesnt get heavier with each new book...cuz it's pretty full already, and this is only going to make it more so!!

message 7: by Helen (new)

Helen Funny, I was thinking the same when I loaded some books onto my kindle.

message 8: by Brad (new)

Brad (judekyle) | 1607 comments I moved this down to our "Do You Know that Book and More" folder. Thanks for the tip, Faye

Faye | 2 comments No problem, wasn't to sure where to post this at the start. I for one can't wait to see what authors they have listed, mouthwatering prospect.
