Gatorman Just finished The Ridge by Michael Koryta . Excellent book. Just started Cemetery Lake A Thriller by Paul Cleave .

message 2102: by Jon Recluse (new)

Jon Recluse | 2066 comments I liked THE RIDGE, too.

message 2103: by Gatorman (new)

Gatorman It was better than So Cold The River. Supernatural element worked better here.

The Ridge looks interesting. I'll have to check that one out--I love books with a supernatural element to them.

message 2106: by Gatorman (new)

Gatorman It's definitely worth it, Kimberly.

Adam, I hope you enjoy COS!

message 2110: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm reading Blue World

Blue World by Robert R. McCammon

message 2111: by Char (new)

Char Isaac, I just finished reading that one. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! :)

I'm reading John Connolly's new novella. The Wanderer in Unknown Realms: A Novella. I like it so far, but it's very different from a Charlie Parker novel.

Char I am finally starting Currency of Souls. I know that I don't have to read this one before reading Thirty Miles South, but my OCD won't let me read them out of order.
My Shelfari group is reading The Great God Pan this week, which is a short one...so I'm hoping to read both of Kealan's novels this week. Whoohoo for me!

I'm surprised at how much of Saturday Night At Eddie's I remembered as soon as I started COS. To me, that's a sign of a great author. The character came right back to me like that! *snaps fingers*

message 2122: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 35 comments I read Thirty Miles South first, Charlene, and it didn't have any negative impact on my enjoyment of Currency. If I had known about the connection, though, I would have gone in order, as well. Both are tremendous reads.

So CURRENCY is first, then 30 MILES SOUTH? I'm with Charlene on this one--it drives me crazy to read books out of order, even when it "doesn't really matter".

And I love the cover!

Well, i got to the rebirth scene. That was pretty f&$ked up. And of course, I mean that in a good way. I'll definitely write a review...always do. Should be done tonight or tomorrow (working long hours these days)

Also, need a paperback book to bring on vacation with me next week. What do you guys suggest next?

Loved Gone South. What a quirky book for McCammon.

It was actually the last one of his books I read. I was not thrilled with his move away from horror. Since, I have had several people advise me to try his newer work. Just not sure if it's up my alley.

message 2145: by Jon Recluse (new)

Jon Recluse | 2066 comments Agreed.

Just finished GOAT DANCE by Douglas Clegg. Pretty good.
Also finished THE HOLE by William Meikle, which was fantastic!

Joe Hart is exceptional. I can't find Clegg's Goat Dance. I've been trying to find it at local UBS's and thrift shop. No luck so far. I have a couple of his others though.
