Karen K. Miller (karenkm) | 140 comments I just love yiddish words. They say things that can't be said in English.

Riona (rionafaith) | 488 comments As a jew who grew up in Brooklyn, I should know way more Yiddish than I actually do.

I love that there is apparently an Indonesian word for tapping someone on the other shoulder.

message 6: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Catherine, my BPAL buddies call that "Ambien ordering," if that helps.

message 11: by Stina (new)

Stina (stinalee) | 749 comments I wish there was one word for "niece(s) and nephew(s)". Why isn't there something succinct that describes the children of your sibling?*

*Is there such a word and I just don't know about it? It might be like washing machine lint and dishwasher food traps all over again.

Stina (stinalee) | 749 comments Barb wrote: "Niecfews?"

That is EXACTLY what I was coming up with! I think I'm going to start using it.

Wonderful news, Carol!

message 20: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Right now, I would like a word for Rick Santorum, who does not have a problem with 1)higher insurance premiums for people who "make bad choices" or have pre-existing conditions or 2)insurance companies who drop individuals for any reason they want.

Toolski? Jerkesque? Nimrod-like?
