College textbooks are a massive overpriced scam/racket. I don't know how the publishers sleep at night. There will be a special ring of hell for them.

And they work out very well financially for the authors, no? I remember Paul Krugman saying that he was working so hard on wrapping up the writing of his econ textbook that he almost didn't want to take the time to go pick up his Nobel prize.
