Good reads is bad enough.

Edit to add
Please could you add the kolourbooks link, your geekiness?

I suspect my list will have all the links to follow in one tidy place...
As well as all the Kindle add-ons available.

The price tracker is great - I've got quite a few expensive books listed on there, and some of them do come down in price eventually!

As you have the Kindle Forum on Amazon you might want to add the Meet Our Authors forum from over there as well. Most of the book promotions and recommendations have now moved over to the MOA from the Kindle Forum, although there are still one or two book discussion threads left on the KF.

The only problem is that the link is to a USA site and all the promos link to US kindle versions that we cannot buy here in the UK.
However I am sure many group members will find the 'meet the author' forum of interest. I am not sure it is something we want Amazon to enforce over here mind.

I wonder if I can prise it out of her hands and swap it for a refurbished one?
She said she didn't want one but after weeks reading on her mobile started to change her mind. She loves it now and has stopped housework (not that she was over concerned before).

Was wondering if anybody uses skins/cases, and which ones? I bought a £12 case on ebay with a light that no longer seems to work, been eyeing some skins on Gelaskins (like this one http://www.gelaskins.com/store/tablet...) and was wondering if anybody knew if they were any good :)

I don't have one myself though so I can't comment personally on that.
And sadly it seems that the Decalgirl skins are not as widely available over here. There is a really nice one that would go with the Amazon burnt orange lighted cover (which is also on my wish list). Not sure if I want to pay the shipping from the .com site though.

A while ago I considered ways of reducing delivery costs by buying Decalgirl skins in bulk. The number of designs is so huge and I know nothing really about these things so I gave up. However, now we have a group perhaps we could make a group purchase to reduce the postage.
I haven't worked out how to do it just yet but what do you think?

Would be happy to be in a group buy :) Might even snatch one for hubby now !

Lorraine - as for cases, I bought a budget case and clip on light for my Kindle when I first got it (I wanted a lighted cover but I thought them too expensive at the time). The cover I got was around £8 and worked fine, but unfortuately I didn't have much luck with the clip-on lights.
I tried several, including the tiny book light. Unfortuately they were all a bit of a let down and had various problems like losing their brightness after a few days despite the batteries still being fine, and causing a glare on the screen.
After researching the lights for a bit I was considering buying the Kandle or the M-Edge light, but I came to the conclusion that the lighted cover might pay for itself overtime judging by the rate I went through batteries on the other ones.
Eventually I splashed out and bought the lighted cover and I haven't been disappointed (only downside is that I went for the black one and now wish I had been a bit more adventurous and gone for the orange one or brown one instead). The light doesn't lose any of it's brightness and is positioned perfectly to not cause glare on the screen. Plus the fact it runs off the Kindle battery so you never have to buy replacement batteries. The only drawback is maybe having to re-charge your Kindle a little more often. But that's not really a problem as such because I usually charge mine once a week anyway.
I suppose it really depends on how much you use the light. The clip-on lights I bought might be suitable for occasional use. I find the Kindle screen great in natural daylight or sunlight, but I find the screen a little dull in lamplight at bedtime, so I use the light on the cover every night.

I got a cheap case (which I am quite impressed with) on ebay, it came with a light. The light has gone dull, which I thought was due to the battery going down, but unfortunately I changed the battery and the light is still the same... just cheap stuff I guess.
I could really do with a good light... sometimes I read quite late in the night when hubby's snoring away beside me, I don't have a bedside table so the light was ideal... at the moment I am using a torchlight and it's more like we have a lamppost glaring directly into the bedroom !
Will have a look into the plug-in light, seems a good idea, I don't mind charging more often, I always forget to turn the wifi off when I am out, so it always goes down more quickly than expected anyway.
As for the screen, I bought some screen protectors on ebay. When I took my kindle to France on holidays a few days after I got it, I kept getting sap and whatever else leaking from the trees and falling onto the screen, and I was worried about scratching it anyway. I really like the original screen, but I have lost the anti-glare effect because of the screen protector. I can live with it I guess, but it's a bit annoying when the light/sunshine is reflecting directly into it. As it's always stuffed in my bag with the keys and loose money, brollie and goodness knows what else I stuff in this bottomless pit, I am so worried to scratch it...
Maybe I should buy a new bag with a kindle compartment :)

I keep forgetting that I did all of my publishing in the US. Duh! (as they say over there, although I think was it used in Crackerjack first!)
