Hope you like Good Squad. I liked it and was kind of different feel for me nice to get out of what I'm normally drawn to.

Gretchen (gkonkler5) I'm reading Cell by Stephen King and I am so enjoying it!!

Listening to Lies that Chelsea Handler Told Me which is a compilation of stories her friends and family tell about the practical jokes, lies, etc. she has perpetrated on them. It's just so so.

message 6: by Melki (new)

Melki I think you've talked me into "Cell". I'll look for it at the library later this week.

message 7: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 95 comments I finished Before I Go to Sleep this morning. Now trying to decide what's next. I still want to finish Gargoyle but not yet...it seems only mysteries can keep my attention lately! Decisions..

Elise Just finished Before I go to Sleep, too! Loved it. Now I'm reading State of Wonder. I think Patchett has redeemed herself in my eyes. It's quite good so far.

message 10: by Melki (new)

Melki I loved "State of Wonder". It's sure to be on my "best of" list at the end of the year.

I liked it too. It was nice and twisty.

Stacey, I hope you like Goon Squad. I read it a couple of weeks ago, and really enjoyed it. I have been meaning to read Await Your Reply for a while. Dan Chaon spoke at our yearly event last year, and was terrific!

Gretchen, I felt exactly the same about Goon Squad. I'm really excited because Jennifer Egan is coming to speak here this fall!

Libby I just finished This is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper, and it was a riot. There were several times that I found myself laughing out loud. It is not, however, for anyone who is easily offended or embarrassed by sex scenes, because there are quite a few. Next up is Conquistadora by Esmerelda Santiago. One of our library patrons raved about it yesterday, so I figured I'd give it a go!

So glad you enjoyed This Is Where I Leave You. Tropper is one of my favorites. If you haven't you need to read more by him. Highly recommend The Book of Joe.
