Independent Authors and Writers is a website that is less than a month old designed to help promote indie authors and their books. Eventually we would like to have reader/buyers visit us. Right now we are building up our books for their perusal while helping to present a more professional appearance.

I was informed by admin today that the intent of Independent Authors and Writers (IAW) is to help published authors promote their books.

We hope to promote professionalism to that end, I was tagged to illuminate a book of the day. I'm doing that on Lynn's Literary Listing. Our website is not static it is constantly flowing with information and people placing information on it. So please feel free to visit us often. You never know what you might find.

If you are interested in promoting your indie ebooks via Twitter, here are 2 helpful sites:

Independent Author Network (IAN). They give a page on their site for your books. More importantly, when a member sees a tweet with #IAN1, they are supposed to retweet it. Of course this does not happen as often as it should.

The other is newer but will possibly be more effective. It uses the hashtag #IndieKindle but is located at the WoMen's Literary Cafe. If you sign up with them they automatically tweet your books several times a day. To work well they need more followers, so after you sign up, spread the word.

Morgan -- do you know how they handle this tweeting? I'd be concerned that it'd be spammish....

Wow, I can tell I missed a beat on this thread. Independent Authors and Writers website is no longer in existence.

Independent Author Network does seem to come out several in a row on Twitter. It may need to be spread out a little more. Morgan, you might wish to inform the head person that the members might try a program like SocialOOmph because you can schedule out tweets...like one or two in an hour over several hours up to twelve with the free version. Then it won't seem so spammish like Karen was saying.

I don't see the #IndieKindle one near as much which can be a good thing.

Of course these are my personal thoughts and opinions.

The website was re-activated as if nothing was shut down. The Facebook site had to be re-started so feel free to go and give it a like then visit the website and post your books. It is a WordPress program, so if you are already familiar with that then this should be no problem at all.

I just tried to put my book Lionel's Grand Adventure on independent authors website, I'm not sure if I did it right, but we'll find out. Thanks for posting the info.

You're most welcome. I kind of help admin from time to time. I went in and checked. It looked good overall. I spruced it up a bit. Admin will come in and put in the finishing touches as he gets a chance.

Our FB fan page just 'liked' yours. If you'd liked to post your book on Independent Authors and Writers website you can go to:

http://www.independentauthors.org/

You can then post your book(s) on individual pages. They can be sorted out by Author Name or Genre. This makes it easier for the Reader/buyer to browse. The main objective is to help Independent Authors and Writers to look professional.

I'm glad you think so. Admin still has to put you on the author list and place the genre. I'm sure he will ASAP.

I added my book Lionel's Grand Adventure to the Indepent Authors website awhile ago. I received an email reagading author categories. At the time I only had my intials on my book. I was waiting on some edits as well as a new cover. Both have been uploaded and I am very interested in being in your author categories, as well as uploading am image of my new cover for the book. I posted my book there today too! Can I brag for just a minute??? Okay..lol...My book, Laiden's Daughter, is on Amazon's Top 100 Best Sellers List for Historical Fiction!! 48 hours straight! lol She started out at about 89 on Saturday, and today she is maintaining her rank at 75. I'm so excited I can't see straight! ;o) Thanks for letting me share!
