Kayla (bookworm17) Hi! My name is Kayla. I live in Michigan, and wanted to join a fun, active group to read along with. I absolutely love crime and thriller novels, so I thought this group would be an especially good fit for me! I'm currently reading The Angel of Darkness by Caleb Carr and am really enjoying it! I'm excited to see what the group's next picks will be and start reading along with everyone!

Hi Kayla and welcome. This is definitely a fun and active group, so check out the threads and the fun and games.

I recently read Carr's The Alienist, and have Angel of Darkness on TBR. Will keep an eye out for your review.

Welcome Kayla. Nominations for our next group reads will open tonight so you are just in time. Actually though, group reads never really end. The threads are always open to comment.

Glad you found us.

Kayla (bookworm17) Awesome! Thanks for the welcome!

T (twoo) Hi Kayla - I see you found us over in the Games already! Glad to have some new players....Just excuse some of us that are repeatedly alphabetically-challenged.... :-)

Jan C (woeisme) | 39173 comments I've been reading The Angel of Darkness for a while. I don't know if it quite held up to The Alienist. Or maybe I was expecting more from it. But, once I find it again (it's lost here in my house somewhere, like so many other books) I will return to it. I don't think that it is a book that I could ever give up on.

I'm in the Chicago area. Not so far away.

Kayla (bookworm17) Yes T, haha, I do like to participate in games too. I'm truly excited to start discussions with the group though! I have to get my hands on some copies of the books the group is reading though! I might just have to come into the next round of novels... :( Hopefully not, but it won't be a complete tragedy I guess.

Yeah, I can understand where you're coming from Jan! It seems to be moving a little bit slower than The Alienist, but I'm still really liking it! I am a little over half way through, so I have high hopes!
