Porter (porteiro) | 6 comments I have vague memories of a fantasy (I think) book where experiments were being done on something (fairies, I think?) what exhibited some quantum-like properties. For example, observing them and recording the observation would "lock in" a property like height which was normally continually fluctuating.

Porter (porteiro) | 6 comments Might this have been in His Dark Materials?

The Quantum Rose by Catherine Asaro

Just an idea.

Porter (porteiro) | 6 comments It's possible. I know that I've read at least part of that book, but I honestly cannot remember a single thing about it.

Have you read this book yourself?

No, I haven't read it. I just found it while browsing keywords on Google. It does look interesting, though.

Porter (porteiro) | 6 comments I found it!

Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson.
