Lisa I was so intrigued that Jack was able to get in and out of Despair so many times but what amazed me most was the finale. Lee Child always pulls out an amazing ending!

S.M. Johnson I love Reacher's sense of honor and personal code of right and wrong. Perfect revenge fantasy reading.

Jaye Latts I agree! I enjoy the character of Jack Reacher. Lee Child has written someone who seems very real, who is flawed but with great traits. And yeah, I also couldn't believe how tenacious he was in his pursuit of the truth and in getting in/out of Despair!
Another truly great Jack Reacher book.

S.M. Johnson I just read The Affair last week - and it was another awesome Reacher read!

Bonnie Lynn This was the first Reacher novel where I got so annoyed it was hard for me to finish the book. Yes, it's a series and, of course, there will be some books that disappoint. I've no desire for Reacher to morf into a cartoon super-hero character. Hope the real Jack Reacher returns soon.

S.M. Johnson Bonnie Lynn - which one didn't you like, The Affair, or Nothing to Lose?

There definitely are some I like better than others - Die Trying is my all-time favorite. Tripwire and 61 Hours have been my least favorites.

Bonnie Lynn SM: Nothing to Lose was the one that I just couldn't get into.. Started The Affair only yesterday. (Haven't read the entire series but hope to eventually fill in the gaps.)

Mysticpt i love the Reacher books and Nothing to Lose was one of my favorites. i loved the slow burn of the action, a good page turner that kept me up at night. 61 hours was my least favorite and i found the Affair a little light on action. i wanted him to kick more butt.

S.M. Johnson The Affair was interesting because it takes place in the 1990s, while Reacher was still active duty - so I think the Reacher we currently know and love hadn't quite reached the level of kick-ass-ness that we're accustomed to!

One thing that is always true for me - Lee Child's narrative is incredibly easy for me to fall into, like running into an old friend and having a long chat.

Mike I have read all the Reacher novels but The Affair, which I am reading now. I have enjoyed all his books, some better then others.

Chris Lytle I just finished Nothing to Lose, my 6th Reacher novel in the past few months. Each one seems to have its own merits. Nothing to Lose has a tougher feel to it but the pages kept turning.

David Freas This wasn't my favorite Reacher novel, but it was far from the bottom. The next two--'Gone Tomorrow' and '61 Hours'--are the weakest in the series with 'Echo Burning' only a touch above them. 'Nothing to Lose' was way above those two and 'The Affair' was one of Child's best in my opinion.

Daron W Krueger I enjoyed this one alright, as I do all of them. But I definitely like the ones written first person the best. I wish they were all first person, as that always makes the story more personal and intense. I wonder why Lee alternates...usually series books are all the same, one way or the other...and I always like first person significantly more. That being said, Reacher books are among my favorites and they are all excellent.

Michele Rice Carpenter I enjoyed this book and recommended it before I was done reading it. Jack Reacher is well-developed, flawed and real. I love his sense of ethics. Well done, Lee Child! Thank you for this excellent book.
