Also, I'd never seen that video (didn't have cable til I was in graduate school in 2k1)...I may be traumatized. But I still like the song. :D

Thanks Peter. Sounds like it's worth a look.

Ah the 80's :)
...Didn't they take that off in Glee?

Shame it's a poor recording. Boy it's been some years since I saw NIN live. Reznor's starting to look old. He must be like what 50 now no?

Jenny (Reading Envy) (readingenvy) | 2898 comments The 80s... I was age 2-12, so I am of the Punky Brewster generation. :)

I was 1-11, but I was an army brat who spent the whole decade overseas, so we never got music videos or Punky Brewster. Instead we got 1950s Canadian cartoon shows that barely qualified as "animated".

message 108: by Tamahome (new)

Tamahome | 7220 comments I wonder if Punky Brewster is in the book.

Me too. I'm about 2/3 of the way through.

message 110: by Allen (new)

Allen Bearce I just finished Boneshaker which I thought was just meh.
I also started reading Ready Player One which so far I think is amazing.

Well if not, you could pick up Soleil Moon Frye's new book Happy Chaos and find out all about Punky Brewster and what she's been doing since then. Great book, of course not Sword or Laser, but still a good book if you are looking for one.

Oh good, I cannot wait! I just downloaded it from Audible as well. I'll start just as soon as I'm done with Fuzzy Nation.

I am also about 30% through the kindle version and really enjoy it. The action is picking up.

Andrew (adrew) | 426 comments Reporting back that I have started Ready Player One (as Audiobook) and am enjoying it so far (~10-15% in). Is tickling my nostalgia (for 80's) bone (so to speak).

Just finished up [Book: American Gods] (as Audiobook) and have been working my way through Terry Pratchett's Bromeliad Trilogy which is a light yet enjoyable read, plus juggling a couple of other books.

Jenny (Reading Envy) (readingenvy) | 2898 comments I gave in! I took a break from Ulysses and downloaded Ready Player One. Listening at 2x speed, and loving it!

Could almost be an alternate pick this month - there is enough of us reading (or listening) to it.

I second it being an alternate pick. If not this month, then in the very near future.
