JSWolf | 649 comments I know we cannot create proper challenges. But can librarians create proper challenges like the 2011 Reading Challenge?

Sandra | 31414 comments Nope, I don't think so, JSWolf.

No.

message 4: by JSWolf (new)

JSWolf | 649 comments So who can create challenges? Can we ask those who can to create them for us?

message 5: by mlady_rebecca (new)

mlady_rebecca | 591 comments At the moment, only the staff can create challenges.

Not all staff members, actually. Pretty sure only the programmers can.

message 7: by JSWolf (new)

JSWolf | 649 comments How do we contact the programmers to ask for a challenge to be created?

Elizabeth (Alaska) There is a Feedback Group.

Ralph Gallagher | 200 comments I don't see them creating a new challenge though. People have been requesting a way to make personal challenges and if they made a challenge for one person, half of Goodreads would be asking for challenges to made.

Vicky (librovert) | 2462 comments I do believe I remember reading that user created challenges are "on the to-do list." What that means in terms of when it will be available, is anyone's guess.

The yearly reading challenge is a site wide challenge and (I believe) the only challenge. I don't think it's something they want to open up to everyone just yet, and Ralph has a good point about making one challenge for one person opening up the floodgates.

Beth (bethjustbeth) | 1568 comments I'm not sure what you mean by "challenges." I'm on a group where a challenge has been set up, but it's nothing that GR needs to do or track. We participate, and report on our results...it's not as if there's a monetary prize, so it's pretty much an honor system.
