Is it normal to hate a character in a book so bad that you don't want to read the book because you know your going to be pissed off by ever word he says?

Reading this at the moment

I'm reading Perfect by Judith Mcnaught. It's just awesome.....I'm really loving this book. There are very few books which have captivated my attention from the very first chapters....and this is one of those books.

I'm also reading Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. I'm reading the pdf which is available in GR itself, but reading it really slow. So far, nothing has impressed me that much in this book. Though, I have high expectations.

Started reading Vision in White & I will follow up with Bed of Roses
I love Nora Roberts, I grew up reading her books & this is the first book of her's that I have read in well over 4 years.
