Hi again. :) The reviews of Sea Cutter are showing up under In Search of Perlas Grandes, a book they never read. I think I understand that when Sea Cutter gets more reviews than In Search of Perlas Grandes, Sea Cutter will replace In Search of Perlas Grandes as my book. But how will Goodreads know that the reviews are for Sea Cutter, not In Search of Perlas Grandes? Thanks!

If they are the same book with just a different title, the reviews will all be on the same page when the books are combined. If the content of the two books makes it necessary to keep the reviews seperate, then they probably shouldn't be combined.

Hi Sandi. The contents of the books are very different. I don't think they should be combined, but because I called my rewrite of In Search of Perlas Grandes: Book I in the Chronicles of Nathaniel Childe, Sea Cutter: Book I in the Chronicles of Nathaniel Childe, Goodreads has put them down as the same book. So how will Sea Cutter: Book I in the Chronicles of Nathaniel Childe, replace In Search of Perlas Grandes: Book I in the Chronicles of Nathaniel Childe? Thanks. I don't think you better separate the books manually, because that's been done, and then they were recombined. Thanks.

A clarifying note should be added to "Perlas Grandes" that it is no longer in print and has been revised/rewritten into "Sea Cutter".

If people are interested they can pull up only the specific reviews for a edition by selecting "this edition" from the review filter, though.

Question:
Is "Red Stone" and "The Indian's Ruby" the same book or has it also gotten rewritten?

If the differences between the books are substantial enough I would agree that they should be separated from the rewrites, adding a librarians note will then hopefully prevent people from merging them again.

I would add it to the book blurb.
It's a vital enough information to provide readers with.

Hi Gerd. In answer to your previous question "Red Stone" is a very different book from "The Indian's Ruby." I (with the help of a librarian) separated out the copies with a note, but then the librarians agreed that they should be combined again. Thanks.

This has been discussed ad nauseum in other threads.
Please leave these works combined - per GR policy, they are new editions, not new books (as witness the series and basic plot information.)

Also, please don't put information about the print status in a book's description field. That information is not relevant on GR, which is not a bookseller. Information about the rewrite/new title, if put in, should be put at the end of the description, not the beginning.
