Marilyn Campbell (marilyncampbell) | 4 comments Hello, Some of you may be familiar with my time-travel books but I have a question for everyone. But first, for those who don't know my books, in the prior decade I wrote 2 contemporary time-travels, Out of Time and Just In Time, in which my couple hopped back and forth between the 1960's to present and 1950's to present, plus in Stolen Dreams, my futuristic couple traveled back to Atlantis. Last year, In and Out of Time was released by Ellora's Cave (updated and eroticized version of the original). Now I have a new series (Crystal Island) and in the first book, Zenith Rising, my couple goes back to the Roaring Twenties. What I would like to know is what is your favorite era to read about in a time-travel? Also, do you prefer a main character going backward or forward? Thanks for your opinions, Marilyn Campbell

Thanks for sharing info on your books. I've not heard of them, but will be happy to take a closer look to see if they would interest me. Personally, I'm not big on time travel romances.

To answer your question, I prefer to read about the pioneer era of the 1800s. However, I don't really have a preference as far as traveling forward or backward in time.

I prefer for the character to travel throughout time. Specifically, though, I find pre-history and the future the most interesting.

Marilyn Campbell (marilyncampbell) | 4 comments Thanks John! I love reading about that era but am adding it to my list to consider writing it.

My husband's a been a humongous fan since childhood, so I watch it. I definitely like it better when it's not a silly monster-of-the-week episode. I suppose I'm only on the cusp of fandom. I guess I like the time travel bits without the silly monster bits.

Amy, I had to laugh at the term "monster bits." I had the same thought, but didn't know how to express it so eloquently. I've heard that the new Dr. Who is much better, but I haven't seen it yet.

Ah. The new Doctor Who is much, much better. There are still some monsters-of-the week, but most stories finish in one or 2 episodes rather than 7. Although, there are story arcs that extend throughout the seasons of new Who. Some of the newer Who episodes that are supposed to be scary on a psychological level are my favorite ones.

Marilyn Campbell (marilyncampbell) | 4 comments I'm new to Doctor Who but got totally hooked when BBCA starting running past episodes. Really enjoying the quirky Doctor & his bevy of companions and I actually enjoy the B-Movie sci fi aspects, but then I am an old-timer :) My daughter just visited the Doctor Who Experience in London "just for mom". I think my fave episodes are where he gets to meet real people in history (regardless of how realistic it is). I've got a list of ideas for new t-t stories growing daily.
