Shayla (shaylaalexander) The point of this Contest is purely creativity. The judge will decide on a winner and then give them a prize.

The prize: Virtual Ribbon made by Kat
The judge: Poll

This contest is the first of the group, so I decided to make it as unique as a I could. First you go to this website that is called the Random Word Generator. You select Word Type: adjective and Complexity: average. (Once given a word, use it. Unless it is inappropriate of course.) This will be the title of your poem and your poem must be about the word. If you don't know what the word means, then ask someone or look it up, please.

Example
Word: Fickle
Decisions
Decisions
Changing
POV

Decisions
Decisions
Make up your
mind please?

Decisions
Decisions
I understand
But do you?

Decisions
Decisions
Stop being
So fickle

This contest was based off of the An Animal and A Word contest in the group Art Club.

Shayla (shaylaalexander) Surrendered

Giving up
Giving in
Giving everything
until you can't

Helpful
to helpless
Fighting
to captured

You have
no choice
but to
give up

Give up
Give in
Go on
and surrender

Entranced

What did it take to become entranced?
A mist of magic, that swirled and danced
In leaps and bounds, forever in tune
With the soft, sweet song of the cold, dark moon?

What did it take to become entranced
By the eddying whirls of wild romance?
By the promise of secrets whispered by night,
In the cooling sliver of pale moonlight?

What did it take to become entranced
To skip me along in a silent trance?
Pulled along by the light in your eyes
I fell for you by the half-moonrise.

What did it take to become entranced
By your quiet soul as the night advanced?
My heart ensures I will never forget
That I loved you while the full moon set.

hello sweet
it's me again.
how have you been?
it's been quite a while.
i thought i'd visit,
for old time's sake.

away from here
is where i'll go.
follow them
quickly.
follow them.

why are you going?
you're so far behind them.
they've left you behind,
it's only you and i here
tonight.

stop
pause
listen.

go on and cry
there's no shame in that.
noone's here
so go on and cry.

running again
in the opposite direction
dear god no
not again.

go on and search
you won't find anything here.
go out the door
you'll find something right.

look
search
nothing

you've fallen again
why's that?
you're scared?
why are you scared?
there's only the two of us here
tonight.

He's not real
He's not here
He's not anywhere

but your imagination.

scream
fall
falling
falling so
falling so so
far down.

Performance.

Must be perfect
Must be flawless
Must be
nailed a smile on my painted lips.

Must be perfect
each step each twist each leap

Must be flawless
or else the audience will go

with your hopes, they will go.

Hummingbird, hummingbird, in my chest
Please tell me they are impressed.

Climb higher and higher and higher and--I can't breathe!

But they cheer, because I'm perfect. I cry because I'm in pain. But they cheer. I'm perfect. They cheer.

I'm in pain.

Kat (sugaraddict) | 42 comments Innocent

So Innocent,
With your big blue eyes
So Innocent,
With your wrinkled sucked thumb.

So Trusting,
Hugging a stuffed bear
So Trusting,
Cradeled in my arms

So Simple,
Only needing a bottle of juice
So Simple,
Easy to satisfy

So Vulnerable,
With breakable bones
So Vulnerable,
Such fragile skin

So Naive,
Unaware of the outside world
So Naive,
Trusting me.

So Innocent.
So Innocent.
You are.
The definition.
Of.
Inn.
O.
Cent.

Tinted

my arms are oustretched. we're holding up the tinted sky.
it's hard to chase em
those dreams tied down to the horizon,
balloons of shimmer and smoke that haunt
beguile
amaze

you're just
a little burnt at the sides
just a little tinted with char
you're the melting of heaven
and the running streaks of the sun.

have I ever seen a grass this level of chartreuse
a sky this magnitude of ultramarine
clouds
tinted
lavender?

tiger-lily-popsicle-stick all across the world
lick me down all over,
sugary sweet celestial-born.
the sweet is so sweet it is tinted with bitter.

now you stir and wake, shh not sleeping anymore
pink petals of a mouth clamping shut in a yawn
i dub thee
beholder of the window,
glass tinted and frosted

don't look now, because the empyrean view is blinding
there are no tints,
there are just tints.
black/blue/indigo/violet/magenta/rose/orange/fire/yellow
clash at wars with one another.

share a secret sideways smile, draw the curtains.
you knew
the imperfection was far more perfect this way.

Uneconomical

Uneconomical.
No tricks. No going around things.
Given a random word to write a poem with.
Poetry? A word like Uneconomical?
It hurts my head.
But I try.

Then I quit.

Uneconomical
Sure, it's so comical
Well, you try making poetry from that!

Shayla (shaylaalexander) Disqualified

You're in
You're out
You're in
You're out

You broke a rule!

Now
disqualification
disquailified
You're out

You're out
Not in
You're out
Not in

Not a chance
No way
Not happening

How do you get back in?
You can't
You really can't
You truly can't

No way in
One way out
No way in
One way out

You found that way

Now you're disqualified

Ella (ellarosewood) | 30 comments Melodic

Tuneful,
yet not
Perfect,
yet different

A perfect song
but not melodic
short, simple
But not melodic

I worked so long
on the perfect song
but it's not
melodic.

A perfect song
but not melodic
short, simple
But not melodic

I work through the night
pulling notes to tight
I know that melody is not hard to find
yet I can't get it.

A perfect song
but not melodic
short, simple
But not melodic

After hours of labor
I find it
Melody

It's perfect
Melodic
short, simple
and Melodic

Kat (sugaraddict) | 42 comments Eleventh

On the eleventh hour,
The bell will toll.

Man will cower,
Hide in hole.
Ring

On the eleventh hour,
The bell will ring.

Blood will shower,
Death to the king.
Scream

On the eleventh hour,
The bell will scream.

He will bow to her,
And beg with mean.
Clang

On the eleventh hour,
The bell will clang.

Blue moonflowers,
Surround as he hangs.
Hiss

On the eleventh hour,
The bell will hiss.

Despite his power,
He'll be amiss.
Shout

On the elventh hour,
The bell will shout.

And from the tower,
He will pout.
Cry

On the eleventh hour,
The bell will cry.

His life devoured,
Passing right by.
Whisper

On the eleventh hour,
The bell will whisper.

Crimson trousers,
Weeping sisters.
Sing

On the eleventh hour,
The bell will sing.

White as flour,
Only a king.
Linger

On the eleventh hour,
The bell will linger.

He will finally allow her,
To love the thinker.

On the eleventh hour.
Silence

I begin to overflow.
Overflowing with ideas.
Ideas for a poem.
The poem you are reading.

I'm not good with longer poetry so I made it really short...

Gossamer

Gossamer cover me softly,
hide me in webs of white.

Gossamer hold me gently,
care for me in meshes of mist.

Gossamer grace me sweetly,
please promise petals with dreams.

Gossamer on me kindly,
never let go.

Maryam | 66 comments Hateful

She ran, afraid of one thing.
Hate.
He killed, filled with one thing.
Hate.
They died, destroyed by one thing.
Hate.
The world ended because of one thing.
Hate.
