i usually never pre-order

I hate to admit this, but I have never pre-ordered anything before. I am all about buyer impulse, I have a pulse so I'm going shopping. Ok just so you know that just made me laugh hehe. Anyways yes does seem a bit early. They just really really want you to get it lol
As always, best regards!

But, my family members do it frequently.
The only thing I ever ordered prior to it hitting the bookstores was Saramagos new book Death W.Interruptions. Some people on here were able to get thier hands on it a week earlier than the release date at thier stores, and i was DYING to get it. My stores werent going to stock it till the release date, and online i saved 20%.
Otherwise, I never ever do that.

I've preordered the harry potter books, Ergon books & Twilight. usually i get a 15% off from B&N in addition to the member discount 7 preorder discount so i have been able to get the books super cheap. Got the final harry potter for $13 got Breaking dawn for $12. But these books are mainly for the kids.

That I don't pre-order books has probably to do withthe fact that I don't know when which book will be published. I go to the bookstore regularly and look for new ones.

now I am waiting eragon 3 from my friend who's travelling abroad (with some other 10books).. hope she won't get excess baggage for these ;p

I like to pre-order so I can get the book as soon as it is available. I guess I'm afraid I might forget it is coming out and not get it. B&N also gives a discount of 5% for pre-ordering, which is good.

This has happened only once. I was speaking to a group about writing in general and my book,Half-past Nowhere in particular.I was not charging a fee ,since when I finish speaking a large number usually buy my book.It was a fun night and the group was especially responsive and knowledgeable and asked very specific questions. When I finished I mentioned if they wished, they could come up and buy an autographed copy.Nobody came up. The club's president looked embarassed."Oh,I'm so sorry,Mr. Cavano, but we all read it at the library."
