Movie is on 'Reel" right now :)

LOOOOVE this movie, and the book.

I haven't read the story yet but I love the movie. <3

It is funny, I enjoyed the story back when it came out but I LOVED the movie. I think the casting was what made it work

The casting was awesome. They showed this at my local theater for retro movie night a while back and I took a friend who'd never seen it. It was a great experience for both of us, even if we were in tears at the end.

Read the story. It's one of the King's best shorts in my opinion, and one of the best King movies, too.

This is one of the few I saw before I read the novella. I remember when I came across it later as 'The Body' and I was like, 'Holy crap! That was Stephen King?' I tried to get my daughter to watch with me but she refused. She wants to read it. Like Mama, like daughter. She does me proud :).

The casting on "Stand By Me" or "The Body" was truly brilliant - it totally made the movie - but best of all is the last line (view spoiler)[ "I never had friends as close as those I had when I was 12 - Does anybody? (hide spoiler)]

I just get all swoony when i think about this book and want to squeee all over the place.

I absolutely love this movie. I love the bonding of friendship, the adventure, and just the whole story is a masterpiece. Again, no author can express and convey such strong human elements, feelings, and emotions as S.K.

Love this movie and it was just one of many films made from King works that I loved as a kid. It even made King cry when it first came out!
