We love Susan Mallery! discussion

In honor of the back to school season, we will be hosting a Susan Mallery course (challenge) that should be a lot of fun. It will not be an overly demanding challenge, but at the end of the series of classes you will be able to graduate into the next class that begins November 1st. Below you will find your course syllabus, please gather your materials (required texts and any extra credit reading you plan to do) and sign up! This class is perfect for those people who are wary of challenges as this one will ease them into the process with only 4 books REQUIRED over an 8 week semester. ☺ Hope to see you sign up!

Susanomics 101, Accelerated
Fall Semester, 2011

Class Hours: September 1, 2011 – October 31, 2011

A. Description
This course provides an introductory survey of several Susan Mallery novels. It is an exploratory, first course in contemporary romance primarily for readers new to the works of Susan Mallery and/or planning to enroll in the Susanomics 102 class offered upon completion of this course.


B. Organization
This is a discussion style, survey course in which participants complete the instructor’s required texts and participate in a discussion about them. The course is a prerequisite for the Susanomics 102 class. Participants who have previously read the assigned material are required to re-read the texts in order to prepare for class discussions as well as ready for the next class. So when participants in this course proceed to the 102 course, if they do, they will be at approximately the same level of expertise as those who have had previously read the texts.

C. Course Topics
The course will cover the following topics:
~Successfully working with ex-husbands and second chance romance
~Self-employment and dangers of a fake engagement
~City planning and interactions with bicyclists with large egos
~Party planning with arrogant men

E. Grading Plan
Course participants are required to grade their own work. When a required text is finished, the participant will list the date it was completed and how they would rate it (one ♥ = awful, 5 ♥ = Amazing, I recommend it!) Upon completion of all the required texts, course participants will be enrolled in Susanomics 102.

F. Extra Credit
For those who complete their assigned readings early, you may choose up to 3 stand-alone books or from her Silhouette series on her Backlist for extra credit.

This'll make me feel like I'm in school while I have my year off! That way I won't get lazy before grad school. lol.

lol yeah it'll help me get in the mood to get my grad school application done.

I'm so nervous about that! haha. What are you going for? And where are you applying? Sorry, nosy. It helps talking to other people going through it too!

I like this challenge! It will give me a good excuse to start some of the other series that I've been meaning to, aside from Fools Gold.

I can't wait to re-read a few. I've been waiting to start the first Marcelli book, too.

The month is almost over? Has everyone already read all 4 books?

Ahh! I haven't. Things have been so crazy! I need to get on it!

I haven't yet either :(! I'm busy this weekend, I have a wedding and a birthday party to attend. Will try to read them before the month ends..

I have 2 of them, and I'm trying to get to before the month is over, but I know that I won't make it to my last book! I don't think I'm going to finish any of my october challenges...this month has been kicking my butt!!!

I've had to lower all of mine this month and do a little creative reconstruction of a few just to finish them off. I could not stay focused on the lists I made. I swear I have adult onset ADD. lol

Hi everyone. I'm a little late to the game, I know. But I just got an email from Amazon about SM's Only Us Christmas book, so I was checking into some of her other books again (since I'm between books). I thought I'd try to read at least two of the four that I haven't read and re-read if I have time. I thought it'd be fun to join the next class and start from the beginning on Nov. 1. :) So: first book - Chasing Perfect. Here I go. Let's see how much I get read in 6 days. :)

I have 1 more to go, and I know there is no way I finish it in 45 mins =(
