**Spring Reading Challenge**

Finished #4, about the show, cookery etc.. Love in The Age of Drought by Fiona Higgins. Thoroughly enjoyed it, my review is here http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
7 down, 3 to go:)
7 down, 3 to go:)
Thanks Michael:) The one I'm reading now, you would love.... The Perfect Husband by Lisa Gardner. It's unbelievable, totally gripping! She is amazing!
Have finished #2, new life... The Perfect Husband by Lisa Gardner I'm pushing the boundaries a bit with this one, but there is a baby born...(you'll have to read it to find out more!) My review http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
8 down 2 to go:)
8 down 2 to go:)

Why do I always leave the boring/stupid/waste-of-space/good-god-they-actually-got-that-published?? book until last? ;)

Haha!! Well done Louise! You know you don't have to finish one like that! Life's too short to read books you're not enjoying, and there would be plenty of others that you can spend enjoyable time on;D

And if you discard the last one you still have plenty of days left to replace it with a new book :)

:D I have been thinking about not finishing it - but I've got so far I need to find out which planet the aliens (annunaki)came from! I've survived the idea that God is married, although currently Mrs God is AWOL, and the idea that Joseph was a master alchemist NOT a carpenter - it's all in the translation apparently. LOL!

O.o!!! Ha!!

But I do have three romance novels and a new Stephen King novel I'm planning on getting my nose into over the NYE period... so catch me then and I may have them read and ready to tell you about them. :)

Good luck with all that Mozette! And GL with the Stephen King book...is it 11/22/63? I had a look at that one yesterday, and it has not much short of 1000 pages!!!

yeah, that's the one and it's a pretty long book... I heard its release on the news the other day and looked it up; then ordered it in. I'm buying it for myself for Christmas; I only hope it's not as disappointing as 'Under the Dome' was a few years back (as I found that as boring as dirt under my fingernail). When I read about the time travel aspect of it, I thought 'why not' and ordered my copy. Great thing is that I have a voucher to spend on the book; and so it won't cost me so much to buy it.

That's fantastic! Love vouchers:) Well, a great gift to yourself, and at least over the break you should (hopefully) have time to read it:)

Usually at this time of the year I'm off to Brunswick Heads (in Northern New South Wales; a very pretty part of the world) but over the last few years, all it's done is rain and get freezing cold there. And being stuck in a caravan with a budgie and two other adults is not my idea of a fun time. So, I've decided to spend my time here at home so I can spread out and read where I wish, enjoy my home and sit out in the car port and read what I want to during the hot summer days... not a bad idea if you ask me; as it gets very quiet around here over the NYE break.
Sounds like a wonderful idea Mozette....you won't have to restrict your books then, that's for sure:) Brunswick Heads is a beautiful area, that's for sure:)

I am totally glad that I actually read to the end of this book, as now I will never have to wonder what the result was, and tonight I intend on using alcohol to wipe the memory of this book and author from my subconscious! :) I'm now settling down to read a nice Jeffrey Deaver to start the cleansing process.
Is there to be a summer challenge? I hope so, because I want to see if I can improve my selection skills (they certainly couldn't get any worse than this last book). Also, I'm returning to study next year so I'm not sure how many more challenges I can complete once semester starts especially as I've added so many books to my reading list from other people's challenge lists.

Congratulations Louise!! Love the cleansing process!! haha!! Enjoy the alcohol along with Jeffrey Deaver;D
Yes, there will be a summer challenge...it's to be released in a few days:)
It's wonderful to get so many more books from other people's lists/TBR isn't it! It adds different genres to the mix!

Oh yes it is! It can be so easy to get stuck in a rut with the same genre/author, so it's great to find out what else is out there!
I also believe that I was put on this earth to read books, and right now, I am so far behind I will never die! :D

10. Book with garden or spring connections:
The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen (has blossoms on the cover, and the peach tree is in a garden)

However, I dont think I will finish this challenge. I am currently reading Casino Royale. I am just over half way through. This is one of the few times I can say that the movie is better than the book. James Bond is such an obnoxious sexist uncaring character. Hopefully he improves in the second half of the book. If nothing else, I have learnt how to play Baccarat.
Thus I am 9.5 down, half a book to go.
1. A much loved book. Smokin' Seventeen by Janet Evanovich.
2. Choose a book that features a new life. Bundle of Trouble by Ellen James.

9. A book with the title beginning with the first letter of your name (D). Divergent by Veronica Roth.
10. A book with a garden connection. Indelible Ink by Fiona McGregor.

I only gave Casino Royale 2 stars, even thinking of 1 star. The story was okay, but I hated the character ... all the way to the end.
