Laura (highlandhussy) | 8 comments Okay, this was a Regency Romance. The hero came back from the Napoleonic wars minus an arm. He's now a drunk. The cover (I swear it was a Signet Regency, or Candlelight Romance, or Harlequin Historical from like 1994 or earlier) has a woman in a green dress, hero behind her, in the circle where the rest of the cover is white. Possibly has duke or viscount in the title. I also think the heroine's name was Cherry.

Bit a long shot given the years, but the hero in these books lost an arm during the Napoleanic Wars:
Simply Love by Mary Balogh
Love's Liberty by Lesley-Anne McLeod
The Temporary Betrothal by Lily George

Laura (highlandhussy) | 8 comments Thanks guys! It wasn't her brother, it was her husband who came back missing his arm, though. I'm sorry, I read this in the '90s and I remember it was a candlelight romance, she had a green dress on the cover, and either his name was Victor or he was a Viscount, or both...I want to say she was a redhead and possibly named Cherry or Charity?
He becomes an alcoholic because of his arm, and he's angry at the world. But obviously because of her love, he changes and they live happily ever after.

An Infamous Army by Georgette Heyer matches some points, I'm fairly sure he looses is arm and she's a red head, but they're called Barbara and Charles, (I"m afraid I can't remember if he's alcoholic and angry at the world) it's an old book so there are a fair few covers but this one sounded the most similar https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Juels | 3312 comments I found an older book with Charity (aka Cherry) in a green dress with a white cover but I cannot find mention of a one-armed man. Still looking.
