Jim (jimmaclachlan) Thrilling Cities by Ian Fleming is a nonfiction book of essays that he wrote about 13 cities around the world in 1959-60. I highly recommend it to anyone that likes the original James Bond books. I gave it a 5 star review here:

I just finished River God River God (Ancient Egypt, #1) by Wilbur Smith by Wilbur Smith and enjoyed it quite a bit. Lots of great military action between the Egyptians and the Hyksos invaders. I've only read a couple of Wilbur Smith's books, but every time I do, I am reminded of how much I like him and that I need to read more of his stuff. I think that the next one in this series will be quite interesting...sounds like it jumps to modern day times with a race to uncover the Egyptian kings (from the first book) hidden tomb.

message 4965: by Corrie'S (new)

Corrie'S War | 4 comments If you like Wilbur Smith maybe you'd like Anthony Barton's action-adventure series about the women fighting secretly inside the Royal Navy to defeat Josephine Bonaparte. The first book in the series is PRESS GANG! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JDQLD8YPress Gang!: Battle, Sweat and Glory in Nelson's Navy!

I recently finished In Search of the Lost World (Primordia #1) by Greig Beck In Search of the Lost World by Greig Beck This is the first book in his Primordia series. It did leave on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I will definitely be reading the next in the series. If you are a fan of Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park series then you might enjoy this one!

message 4969: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Going Rogue by Drew Hayes is the third in the Spells, Swords, & Stealth series, a D&D world from the NPC (non player characters) point of view. The series is really hitting its stride. I gave it a 4 star review here:
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

message 4970: by Terry (new)

Terry I am reading the "Left Behind" Series by Tim La Haye and Jim Jenkins.

I believe we are in the last days of the age.

Very enjoyable and good reading.

I am on Book #10 and currently have two books to go. I started with Book #3. (Left Behind)

message 4971: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Raylan Goes to Detroit is by Elmore's son, Peter Leonard. I'm usually disappointed when another author takes over a favorite character, but this was pretty good. It wasn't Elmore, but it was well narrated & kept Raylan's character intact. I gave it a 3 star review here:

John Devalle | 29 comments Currently reading a piece of fan fiction about Wonder Woman on another site. It's a wonderful tale, of WW finding she's pregnant by the late Steve Trevor, and having to learn to be a mother. Action may come later in the story, but the idea of WW as a mother is original. I'll ask the author if she'll let me post a link here.

message 4993: by Lance (new)

Lance Charnes (lcharnes) | 226 comments The Romanov Prophecy sits firmly in the thriller subgenre dominated by The Da Vinci Code , but without (most of) the metaphysics and with a more relatable protagonist. It's got first-novel problems that it paves over with a sprinting narrative and great dollops of tragi-history surrounding one of the world's favorite conspiracy theories. Fun? Sure. You won't come out with a net loss of neurons. Take it for what it is (a good distraction from sitting in coach on a transatlantic flight) and you'll have at least a three-star good time.
