Not only Bubba but there's Earl also. Bubba and Earl's Monster Hunter International Inc. Where else could such a place exist but Alabama (Since Mississippi has the market cornered on UFO reporting. You now how it is, if your a redneck, fish in the middle of the night and consume more than a six-pack while doing it, you too can report being taken away by aliens.
Yea, like Aliens would go looking for Drunk Rednecks if they had a choice? No wonder the aliens will probably want to exterminate us when they get here.)

Your right, the south doesn't have the market cornered on Rednecks... according to Jeff Foxworthy, the current expert, rednecks live in all parts of the country.
(and for he record, who you callin' a Yankee? I was born in Virginia and raised in the cradle of the deep south, Louisiana. Not only that, contrary to popular belief (and news to me when I found out about it) Maryland is south of the Mason-Dixon Line.)

I'm done with Monster Hunter International, and started, Deep Fathom by James Rollins. The Last Rollins Read that isn't YA(which are next).

I loved the book. But I think we should have been forewarned about (view spoiler)
I'm on the Audio book so I'm not sure what 22 is, but, if it's the one I think it is, yea, that was a heart breaker.
I still recommend finishing the book, it's a wonderful read.
I wonder what's up with Agent Franks? (I have an idea, but, that guys kind of... (you know?)

I'm just past half way in Deep Fathom another Rollins Read. It's good, but reads more like an Espionage/Suspense thriller (up to now). It started a little different too. It's still unmistakably Rollins, but It's got a different feel than the other Rollins reads. So far good.

Just started Life. This has been on my TBR forever. So far very interesting read.
Better than halfway through Control Point and well into The Scorch Trials. So far not bad but not great on either count.
I liked Monster Hunter International. 4 stars is a high water mark for me. It's just fun.
I finished Deep Fathom. It was a good read. More polished than I expected. Not as good as Ice Hunt, in my opinion, but there isn't a "bad" Rollins Read. They are all entertaining.

Started Untraceable. It's good, maybe not as good Snake Skin, but the main characters aren't comparable. They are good "weak" female characters. (using the expression from somebody's blog who wanted female characters that were both strong, competent, and important but also realistic. Taking the same damage as their male counterparts...so weak in a good way.)
It's not A/A though. It's a crime story pretty much.

I also read Dark Rising by Greig Beck this week. Although I did like it, I didn't like it as much as Beneath The Dark Ice (which I loved).
Now I'm currently reading 2 books. On my Sony reader I'm reading Stigma by Philip Hawley. So far I'm really liking it. It started well and has me intrigued.
On my iPhone (I tend to read on my iPhone when I'm on break at work, or out somewhere) I'm reading the YA book Incarceron by Catherine Fisher. This is my second time to start this one. I'm a bit further than last time, but I'm not sure about it yet. So far I find it just weird, but since it gets such great reviews I'm going to stick with it. Anyone here read it, and if so, what are your thoughts?
I have Beneath the Dark Ice. I should read it. I loved Ice Hunt, which is your favorite Rollins read?
I finished Untraceble, review posted. I've started Wolf's Hour by Robert R. McCammon. It's a good start and, so far, a pretty good A/A book, for a Wolf story.

Yes you should read Beneath The Dark Ice. I hope you like it as much as I did. I'm not sure why, but I'm drawn to books that take place in/around ice....Ice Hunt, Beneath the Dark Ice, Ice Station, Scarecrow Returns, Thaw etc, I love them.
I liked Subterranean too. It was a little different for Rollins, but also very cool. The Hero and Heroine(s) were both cool!

I didn't know about the Clemens pseudonym myself until I was on his website one day, and someone mentioned it in his forum. Then I got the first book in his Banned and the Banished series, and loved it. It's a 5 book fantasy series, whose main character is a young witch. It's really good. If you're into fantasy, you should give it a try. The first book is called Wit'ch Fire.

How is this?"
Oops! Bad eyesight got me again. Should be THIS one

Allison, I read Encarceron. I was disappointed with it. Not a bad book, but it could have been better.
I believe I have a signed copy of Wit'ch Fire by James Clemons. He was at Comic-Con one year. Embarrassingly, I admit I haven't read it yet.

I haven't read either of those but it is about a guy who darted out avenging his fathers death and later he takes on an assignment for money. Gideon is just a normal everyday run of the mill kind of guy that can BS his way into or out of anything.

sounds cool. I liked Relic and I've heard wonderful things about the Pendergahst stories. I've read a stand alone by them too that was fun, though not as good as the other stuff.
I'll check it out. Thanks.

And that's my review on MHI #1 for them that's interested."
Read the review and that pretty much sums it up. I'm only 100 pages into it and I can see I'm going to have to settle for something a lot quicker for supper than I'd planned!
I don't know why... but this song reminds me of Owen Pitt. Sorry about the long intro but it was either that or an add.

Yea, I know I'm not right... not in the head anyways.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I was listening as I walked the dog and close to the end... so me and the dog took another lap... I didn't tell my wife (stuck at home with the kids...) I know I'm bad....
So, have you been to the Enchanted Forrest yet?

Good choice, the video does make me think of Owen Pitt.
Where do you find these video's, lol.
Actually, I found the song, then looked for the video... I've got Warren Xevon's Greatest hits and heard it there.
I think it's because of the supernatural theme, and the fact that the guy who killed Rolland is named "Van-Owen" (curiously, I wonder if the "Owen" who had something to do with a WWII era sub-machinegun was "Van Owen?")
It's just kind of spooky and off kilter and I like it... add in a lot of gunplay and...Supernatural + Guns + revenge + dead bodies + really a lot of guns = Owen Pitt ... my mind is strange.
