And you may have heard this one... I think it was the unofficial theme song of my last Family Reunion... (and oddly, reminds me of MHI #1 too.. .maybe it's the CPA connectin.)

and for the record.. I'm reading Wolf's Hour by Robert R. McCammon. McCammon is rappidly becoming one of my favorite authors. This book is not as mind blowing as Swan Song but it is a good read.
If a Robert Ludlum book from the days of yore (holcroft Covneannt, The Parsifal Mosaic, The Chanelor Manucscript) or "The Enenemy" by Desomnodn Bagley fits in the A/A Genre, or here, then this one does, and it's possibly filled with more "action" than those.
I would also say, that this isn't a Werewolf story. It's a spy story where the lead character happens to be a Werewolf. There are some wonderfully written parts in this book, and some places where I'm going to give a thought or two, but overall, it's a fun read. Entertaining and I'll wait till I finish it, but, if it keeps going like it is, then I'll gladly recommend it.

This is an author that is now on my 'auto-buy' list with just two books and that has not happened all that often.

I just finished The Devil All the Time. It was a horror book and alot of people loved this book. I thought the writing was good and with the GR rating system I gave it 3 stars.
Going to start this months group read Captain Blood probably today.
I love the GhostWalkers series like crazy, Eileen. I am rereading the whole series in preparation for Samurai Game coming out in July. So Excited!!!
I'm adding rereads of some of the Dresden Books (just "re-finished" Proven Guilty. The next or new Dresden is due out in fall I think). Still reading To Kill a Mockingbird for a group, but taking my time with it. Also still reading a nonfiction (Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left from Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning), but I own it so it gets to wait as I read library books...still only one of those still here for now. I got The Death Cure the other day from the library, so it'll get moved up soon I guess.

Almost done with Wolf's Hour. It's very good, but a little like playing country music on a Stradivarius. Sure it sounds good but...what happened to Vivaldi? It's got some brutal parts. We are talking about Nazi's.
Still James Bond as a werewolf.
I don't know what to rate it, but I'm calling it good. THen I'm staring Captain Blood.

It's good. (and I'm sure it's not the first strad to play Blue Grass.

I think you'll like it. It's a good spy-action-thriller on one hand, on the other it's a pretty cool werewolf story. The beginning was good, but about the middle hit hits another gear and gets better. It sort of leaves the James Bond schtick in the dust and takes on it's own kind of thing. (If I didn't know better I'd think there was a Vietnam Parody hidden in there, but, there's no evidence of that other than what I read.

Finished Wolf's Hour and starting Captain Blood.
Wolf's Hour is really good, not as good as Swan Song, and maybe not quite up there with MHI for fun (then what is?) but it has some things that MHI doesn't that are wonderful, and, very disturbing, in an artistic but difficult way.
McCammon's got a very interesting style. It'll be a 3.5 or higher read for me. I'll post a review soon.

If you like Captain blood, and want something similar, but with more a a sense of humor (More Thurber-ish) read The Exploits of Brigadier Gerard by Arthur Conan Doyle.
I think Doyle was poking fun at Sabotini and other writers of the day. (H.G.Wells).
If nothing else, the catch at the end is pretty good. (Lots of humor in it.)

I will continue to work through; Event (Event Group Adventure #1)by David L. Golemon on my Kobo -- and I will also continue to work my way through some 'Lightspeed Magazine' short stories on my Ipod (usually do this when I go for my long walks or hit the gym) --
Definitely trying to kick my reading into high gear this year to go along with my writing.
JC

I really did like this, it was my first book by Golemon and I keep wanting to get Legacy, which sounds like it should be equally good.

I liked Event too...(yes, of course there's a review on it somewhere.) It wasn't a perfect read, but it was fun enough, and seemed to get better as it went along.
It's on my like it list.
My thoughts on Event.

I'd also say, that in the if you liked this you may like that department Firebird are in the same book department.
I finished Captain Blood, now I'm reading "Who Goes There?". It's the book behind the movie The Thing (one of my all time favorite black and white creature features.
It's already better than both movies (the remake too).

I liked it. The second one in that series is good to, different, but good.

Since the weather has change for the better, which it has been absolutely beautiful lately in my area of the country. I find I don't seem to have as much time to read. Finding myself doing other things besides reading. So my question is, do you find your reading abbotts change with the changing seasons?
Still reading Dead Sea and Isolation. Haven't gotten to this months group read yet.

Yeah, if all you've seen are the movies you've got a pleasant (if you can call a great horror story pleasant) surprise coming...especially if you saw that (insert favorite really bad word here) "Bram Stoker's Dracula" which oddly bear's no actual resemblance to Bram Stoker's, Dracula.

I've always been an outside person, so have routinely read more when the weather didn't allow me as much outside time. In MT I read more during the winter. Here in KY, it is the heat/humidity in the summer that keeps me inside in the A/C so I tend to read more in the summer.
I finished Captain Blood, then finished "The Star Rover" (Great read, more on that later) now I'm readin gBad Blood by John Sandford. it's not A/A, but it's a good ole fashioned crime read.

Good series. That's one of my favorites in the series.
